This is a rainy night song for me, looking out into the rainy day or night. So easy and simplistic in it's arrangement I can hear every instrument and think about who is creating it! I love it! Legendary music.

You're welcome. Yes, girl, I can feel that soft summer wind blowing!! LOL This is the ultimate mood piece. So glad you're a sister New Yorkaaaa! Of course Coltrane lived here in metro New York out on Long Island in Amityville. There's a chill restaurant I love on LI that has the most beautiful oil painting of him hanging just above my favorite back booth. Haven't been there since well before the pandemic. Just had my first of two Moderna COVID vaccine shots, so when it's safe to go back in the not-too-distant future, I'll either go solo or only with someone worthy who'll appreciate it. Plus they play some of Coltrane's music. Such a great atmosphere for unwinding.

@@SopranoSistah yes he used to live in ny I have cousins in Long Island well they brought back restaurant week here in the city. I have ate out maybe twice since the pandemic. The air quality was slightly not clear from the smoke from the wildfires that reach 2000 miles from the west and Canada13 cities with this fire so crazy.

@@wakeupstopsleeping6300 Yes, I noticed the 'haze' in the air when I took a drive to one of the beaches this evening. This song was perfect to listen to there.

Your reaction to this has made my night after an extra long but glorious day. Shame on me for making a replacement song of this ELITE masterpiece from yes their ELITE collab album. I should have requested it outright So I'm even more glad that you were able to react to and air it. Was meant to be I guess. Beautiful to hear and see. Thank you.

@@rightonrighton8801 Thank you. I'm sometimes concerned that I "express" a little too much, but that's just how I'm built inside, so my honesty comes out. LOL. Not everyone appreciates that. :) As for our channel host, he said on his Community page he's been having tech issues the last few days. Hope it resolves soon!

Jammin, I really enjoyed this masterful performance by two of the best! Love me some Jazz! Last jazz set I saw was at a place called Sister Sister in Brooklyn. That was before the pandemic. Your reactions are greatly appreciated!

Aah! That was good. 👍 Not sure about sentimental, I got more moody than sentimental (there's a fab Billie Holiday song called On the sentimental side which feels more so) - this reminded me of the Dennis Hopper film Blue Velvet, also, a song I was quite surprised by when fairly recently discovered, Elvis Costello's version of Gloomy Sunday. You should check out the Sarah Vaughn rendition with lyrics, when you hear it sung it gives you a better appreciation of what Trane is trying to express. Lester Young, another great saxaphone player, once said you can't play a ballad if you don't know the words.
