This song was from Elvis's first movie. It was a western, called 'Love e tender' made in 1956. Since it was his debut movie, it was the only movie he ever did, where he was not top billing. You need to find the 1970 live version of this one. He kisses woman after woman after woman. Sings a couple words, kisses a girl. A coupe more words, ore kisses. LOL Hilarious to see now. He definitely isn't singing it to his Mama in that version. Go for 3! LOL

My mom introduced me to Elvis movies when I was in High School. I fell in love. She told me a story about going to see GI Blues when she was in high school. At that time if you paid for a ticket you could stay for as many shows as you want. She watched it 3 times and got in sooo much trouble.

Thank you for this comparison reaction. He could sing live just as good and often better than in the studio. Both beautiful. Everyone is requesting the 1970 LasVegas version of this song. An old ballad called “Aura Lee”, w/lyrics changed slightly to fit into the movie set in the 1860’s. Elvis made it a hit 100 years after it was first popular.

Did you catch how he enunciated some of his words different and tone during the live performance back then , than in the recorded version ? Elvis had the talent and charisma and of course looks , to be the best entertainer there ever was .. he loved his fans and appreciated them and they loved him back

Yo, check out "Thrill Of Your Love" from Elvis' 1960 album Elvis Is Back. My personal favorite. The title comes from this being his first album recorded after 2 years in the Army. When he left in 58, he had already been the biggest star around a little over 3 years. This song shows how his voice had matured and was the ultimate crooner. He could sing it all!

You should give a listen to some Elvis gospel. "Milky White Way" and "I, John" have more upbeat grooves. " Take My Hand, Precious Lord", "Stand By Me" and " Crying In The Chapel" are more subdued, but beautiful. Thanks AB. Love you and your channel. ❤

This was his first movie with the same bame..I saw it in the theater as a teenager & there was so much screaming when he was on screen, you couldn't hear anything but screaming..yep...EP had it going on.

I will also ask for the 1970 version. This performance is Elvis at 21. In the 70 version, Elvis is 30, and being followed around by filmmakers doing the documentary "That's The Way It Is." He sometimes found it a bit annoying, so he did something off-script and unexpected - but Classic Elvis. You will lose your mind. Brother AB - please let me know if/when the package arrives. KP

Night Elvis died, I was 5 years old and was at a babysitters. It was on the news at 10 o'clock and I went behind a chair. And cried until my mom ma. Came to pick me up and she said I was not the same for 2 whole weeks. Every time this song came on the radio for the longest time up until my teens. When it was on the oldies station by the end. I would burst into tears. BTW My mama told me somebody in a scary mask, surprised him and he had a heart attack. She didn't tell me the truth til many years later

Many wrong decisions as we all know were made regarding Presley's career and would have finished most artists of lesser calibre. One decision the Colonel got right was to not over expose Presley to the public and thus leave them wanting more.
