Also a interesting little historical side note, Timothy McVeigh (the Oklahoma City Bomber/domestic terrorist) was a massive fan of the original. When his loser ass was in the army n Desert Storm he reportedly played this song for the other guys so often that they were sick of hearing it. Not to knock the song, an artist doesn’t pick who likes their work, just an interesting music/historical/military tie in.

I read that at the time this song was released one of their members was still active. He could be called back to serve. Does anyone know if this is true?

No, none of the members have been active duty. But their guitar player, Zoltan, helps train Army combat ❤
