Florence Welch is the lead vocalist, and the band is written as Florence + The Machine but spoken as Florence and the Machine :) Would highly encourage checking out more of her stuff, she is incredibly talented

When I first heard this song years ago, I was like "who is this?" Great sound! "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)," "Kiss With A Fist," "Only If For A Night" and "Shake It Out" are some other great songs.

“Cosmic Love” is my favorite song of hers, but you really couldn’t go wrong reacting to anything from her first two albums. Not a lackluster song to be found on them.

ah you never heard Florence's voice? She's on a league of her own tbh. There's so much you could check, I would go for stuff from Ceremonials: Shake It Out and What the Water Gave Me are massive. There's also a cover from Lungs, You've Got The Love.

So excited you're reacting to Florence, I clicked so fast! 😆 Florence's voice is so unique and mesmerizing and her lyrics are absolute poetry, I've been a fan for years! You should also check out "Shake it Out", "Big God", and "What the Water Gave"....among so many others! It's so hard to pick favorites because there are so many I love that I'm leaving out, but those 3 are a good starting place!

This came out at the beginning of the 2010's or so. It felt true. That spirit that we really could be happy felt possible. Then 2016 came and that idea was obliterated by hate. I listen to this song and the hope comes back, just for an instant.

@@hod2116 nope. We elected a fearmonger to the white house and and the hate erupted. Do you ever remember a time when a large swath of the country was so hateful they were actually frothing. Do remember any president selecting people to cabinet positions, basically all hiring and firing based not on expertise, experience, the honest measure of a person's worth but on how brown their nose was? We've gone from an age of innovation to belittling knowledge. I don't hate. My heart's just broken.

@@hod2116 the respondent didn't say that they hated, but that the idea of happiness was obliterated by hate, meaning that the world- specifically the US- was consumed by divisive hatred bred by far right politicians. That's just my guess as to what the comment meant. 2016 was the beginning of an era that led us to where we are now- a criminal ex-president and a cult that will follow him no matter how corrupt and awful he is and them trying to take the country down a fascist path. Dog Days are just getting started here in the States. This song will be hyper relevant again when 45 is finally in prison and that cult finally dies out.

There are so many incredible songs by them. Cosmic Love, Kiss with a Fist, Ship to Wreck, Shake it Out, You’ve Got the Love, Rabbit Heart, I’m Not Calling You a Liar, Seven Devils, Between Two Lungs… you could spend a few days and not be disappointed by them. She’s got a powerful voice 👍❤️

I love female vocalists who can belt! I listen to Shake it Off by Florence and the Machine almost daily. The song is beautiful and the lyrics are just perfect for rising above what's dragging you down. Love that you're dipping into this ☺️

I'm glad you discovered her and appreciate her.i'd say she's voice and performance artist.she likes to be bare foot when she performs and is very shy off stage when she has to be herself rather than escaping in to the song she's singing when on stage. Florence and the machine are one of my fave bands! Another songs from them that I‘d recommend are Shake it out, Kiss with a fist, Hunger and No light, no light has an amazing MTV unplugged version that really brings out how absolutely AMAZING her voice is!

My fav Florence song is from their unplugged convert, it’s what the water gave me. In fact I like most of the unplugged versions. But srsly her voice is so incredible in that version of the song. When your voice is better live that really says something

She's one of a kind, such a powerful and unique voice, and her/the band's style is so different and magical! Very creative, sometimes it takes me a while to get into some of their stuff but then BOOM i'm hooked and listen to it on repeat! All their albums are worth a listen!

I cannot tell you how much I love this version of the song and video. I'll watch it 10 times in a row every single time. There is another acoustic version in the Sirius studio that you should react to. This song is so enormously gorgeous and explosive. This video is one greatest cinematic gems ever.

Saw florence in 2016 at the Genting arena Birmingham England. Powerful singing voice but very quiet talking voice. Best songs that night were Patricia, Big god and what the water gave me.

The line about washing it away down the kitchen sink may be a semi-autobiographical one about Florence Welch's own substance-related problems. On here you'll also find an exceptional over they did of "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, which was the one and only time they performed it live.

Dog days are actually the hottest days of summer (in the northern hemisphere) which occur during the one to two month period in which a particularly bright star rises and sets with the sun, shining during the daylight hours and staying hidden at night. This star is known as Sirius, the Dog Star, hence the name dog days

Can I request something please? If you don’t know them already, please react to bluesrock guitarist and singer Jeff Healey. His band’s name was The Jeff Healey Band, and he was celebrated as the Canadian Jimmy Hendrix back in the mid- late 80’s. He was given his first guitar at age 3, and being blind, he found it easier to play it in an unconventional way, from above, either sitting down with the guitar in his lap, or later in also using a special guitar stand that allowed him to play in the same fashion standing up. They were well-respected and played many clubs and festivals throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s. Jeff was great at improvising his guitar solo parts, and no matter how many shows you saw, he never played a song in the exact same fashion twice, it was always different, fresh, and spontaneous. Jeff passed in 2008 at the age of 41, and I think he deserves to be remembered, and the memory to be kept alive. I was pleased to find quite a few old shows and performances on YT in decent quality, however, for a first introductory impression of Jeff alone and his insane guitar skills you might want to start with this performance from 1988: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nd2Xgrir1Mq3Znk.html .
