Hmmm, sounds a little like “Lookin’ Good” by the late great Magic Sam (also known as “Sam’s Boogie”). Gary said as much in an interview.

Love Gary Clarke Jr. Seen him 2 or 3 times at the Australian Byron Bay Blues Festival. He is. Great guitarist, singer and all over great performer.

He uses a lot of guitar effects pedals, fuzz, overdrive,big reverb! You’re probably hearing a combination of all that. I saw someone say he’s influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I’ve also heard him talk a lot about Hendrix , and Albert Collins

Gary's a real deal bluesman. Mentored by Jimmie Vaughan (SRVs Big Bro) and Clapton, among others. He has a bunch of great tracks. I particularly Like "Travis County", which is semi-autobiographical about his hometown of Austin, TX. BTW Asia, yes, the sound is a guitar effect, it sounds like a fuzz pedal of some sort. Love what you guys do! Cheers.

A lot of blues guitarists use a slide to get that effect. Another fun movie you could check out would be Ralph Macchio’s Crossroads. It has an actual G.O.A.T. in Steve Vai playing a character at the end battle scene. But they kind of explain the use of the slide in it.

There is a few guitars, one is playing with a slide (a glass or metal tube on a finger,) that is that trailing off sound. Gary is playing along with the rhythm section and playing the solo as well. Your mystery sound though is that slide guitar being played by his guitarist King Zapata.

Rock and Roll is a mash of Blues, country, cajun, gospel, folk, and RnB. It sounds like all of those from time to time. It still just rock and roll to me.

I lost two brothers 2 diabetes both in the same year and my younger brother first name is Israel then my older brother Andy less than a year later.
