For the record he plays the piano. He does on his blackbird cover and High and Dry. He's phenomenal as is VoicePlay.

Geoff is incredible! What's really funny is that he doesn't consider himself a "true bass." He says he's a "baritone with bass range." Either way, he's completely amazing! His other solo songs like 16 Tons, High and Dry, the Headless Horseman, and Blackbird are awesome. He also has some incredible work with his acapella group Voiceplay that you shouldn't miss! 😄😄 welcome to the rabbit hole! A little info, he uses singing techniques to get to some of those insanely low notes, such as growl and subharmonics. He specializes in subharmonics, but he does growls every now and then too. To see his lower range in chest voice, I’d suggest his cover of sixteen tons, no growls or subharmonics in that one. His cover of Blackbird uses some techniques if you want your mind to be blown again 😄

Nice reaction! Yeah Geoff is a phenomenal singer with a 5 octave range (C1-A5). He is part of the a Cappella group Voiceplay (round about 950k Subscribers) and they are also amazing. If you get to Voiceplay I recommend their "Carry on Wayward Son", "Oogie Boogie Song" and "The Little Mermaid Medley". Keep up the good reactions!

Geoff and the a cappella group he's in, VoicePlay, are from Orlando, FL. Most of them worked as performers in the theme parks there when they were younger, and a lot of their stuff is more theatrical than the other a cappella groups. I'm talking all out makeup, costumes, facial prosthesis, and character voices in some videos. But he and the group are all phenomenal artists.

Welcome to Geoff Castellucci's world, we all just live in it. You need to listen to just about anything he covers, and you should also look into the acapella group that he's part of, VoicePlay. Oogie Boogie song is one of theirs that features the most Geoff in it, though recently, they did a cover of Man in the Mirror, which is a farewell piece for the group's baritone. They've been featuring guest singers for over a year now since their first tenor left the group, and with their baritone leaving, they're in a phase of double-feature videos, but the core remaining 3 members are all powerhouses, and they're able to get phenomenal performances out of their guest singers. Don't take the "featured" phase as being a time of weak content, they keep the quality running high even as they cycle through guest singers in their search for new permanent members.

Geoff also does a solo, Shenandoah as well as a couple of coal mining songs, 16 Tons and Big Bad John. Daddy Sang Bass is also great but the first song I heard from him, was the Monster Mash which led to VoicePlay the best acapella group ever.

There've been a lot of good ones you've missed, but he just dropped a cover of Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine that just blew everyone away. Pretty sure you'd be amused.

You'll notice there's a large crossover fan base between Home Free, Voice Play and PTX as well as a following to their individual solo or collaboration work. My ultimate collaboration would be Tim, Geoff, and Avi. They all cover very similar ranges, but their tones and textures are so different. I can't even imagine how viral that video would go! I know you've started on a Home Free journey also, but a good song choice for Avi Kaplan (formerly of PTX) is called Change on the Rise. You'll be beside yourself with glee!
