Glen is a Vietnam vet and wrote a song called Galveston about a girl he left and his fear of dying while at war. He was a very popular country music singer and song writer. He also had a television special.

Glen was not a Vietnam veteran, he was a LA studio guitarist who moved into a solo career. There is a better version of this great Allen Toussaint classic, recorded live with Glen and Jerry reed on guitar.

Glen Campbell was one of the greatest country singers that ever lived.This great song was written by Allen Toussaint who also wrote for The Pointer Sisters as well.

Something no one has mentioned yet is the fact that Glen Campbell is considered one of the best guitar players every. He started out as a session guitarist in LA meaning he played on tons of albums for other famous singers. He then went on to be a singer and entertainer in is own right. If you check him out again, try something that has him playing guitar in it ;)

Glen is considered one of the top 5 guitarists ever by the greatest guitarists ever. You really must listen to some more of Glen's stuff. His personality, voice and guitar genius made him a major part of 70s popular culture. Even got his own variety show which were very popular in the 70s. He died some years ago now of Alzheimers which was terribly sad.

Absolutely correct. Glen was a complete guitar virtuoso. He was a part of the wrecking crew. We may never see talent like this again.
