Try his other songs Boots, Ain't a bad day, Rednecker, This Ole Boy, Where to find me, Give Heaven some Hell. Hardy (yes, his last name, Michael Hardy) is a great songwriter who has written many songs by popular country artists and he just won the CMA Songwriter of the year award. I was not a country music fan until recently but Hardy and Morgan Wallen are two of my favorites for sure.

yes hardy is indeed his last name his full name is Michael Wilson Hardy. Hardy also co-wrote Florida Georgia Line's singles "Simple" and "Talk You Out of It", Blake Shelton's singles "God's Country" and "Hell Right", "Drop" by Dallas Smith, Chris Lane's single "I Don't Know About You", and Jameson Rodgers' debut single "Some Girls as well as all his stuff

Wasn't sure what to call this genre so I went to check out a couple of other songs by him, I think this song is pretty misleading for an introduction to this guy. All of the other songs I clicked on were typical, generic country songs full of the same lines and cliches you find in every other country song. He's another cookie cutter country singer legitimizing Bo Burnham's "Pandering"... I'll give Hardy a little credit for this song, he did try to do something new here. But aside from this, there's seemingly nothing really special about him..

I'm fairly certain you haven't really delved into his "A Rock" album because if you had, you'd say the complete opposite about cliche. Sure, he's got a couple of cliche songs like "Rednecker" and "Unapologetically Country As Hell", however, the remaining tracks, lyrics aside, are the complete opposite if your typical country music. "BOOTS" changes tempo 4 times, "Sold Out" has Hooks the likes that some metal artists dream of, his lyrical skills showcase that of a rock based Eric Church. The guys nowhere near typical country. He's a new artist who's finding a way to showcase something way better than your typical country or the "Koe Wetzel Americana Rock" that's starting to be mainstream. This guy has what it takes to completely change the way country music is played, recieved and written and I'm here for it.
