Helene has 21 Gold Records + 60 Platinum Records ... quite sucessfull in DACH (= Germany, Austria, Switzerland) though. The british singer Sir Tom Jones akes her (!) for a duet at her (!) show ... You should/could check this performance ... I like it a lot! :)

wikipedia says she was born in Siberia, her parents belonged to the German settlers near the Black sea which were deported to Siberia in 1941 by Stain. I think it's fair to say she's the German version of Taylor Swift although she's not know that much outside of German speaking countries but nevertheless is the 5th or so best selling female artist worldwide. She's not my cup of tea as German Schlager is similar though not a copy of country music and it's way to cheesy for me.
