I was born in sweden -69.. I traded something for this album and the rocknroll over album when I was seven.. loved this song.. All my friends were kiss fans.. riding bikes wearin sleeveless jeans jackets with kiss stickers feeling like the coolest m..f rs on earth .. And we were🙋♂️

Yes. As a kid of the 70s, I can confirm this. Myself and other kids in the neighborhood put on many a kiss concert. When I moved to a new school in ‘79, I would draw the faces of Kiss and made new friends based on mutual interest in Kiss

Underrated band. Other band called them a joke because of costumes. Music is above average, huge following, super concert shows.

Sorry to disagree. But as a folk/rock musician most of my life, I can say this band was more about making money and getting laid than it was about making great music. And it shows. Some songs are passable, but mostly, they drown in a very shallow pool of sophomoric sexual stupidity.

The Car Crash at the end of the song is also the Intro to "King of the Night Time World" (another BANGER)!... They usually end their shows with this song, because of the sound of a car crash, you're hit with a MAJOR fireworks Display! Now THAT'S an Homage to a Fan!

They usually opened their shows with 'Detroit Rock City' and closed their main set with 'Black Diamond'. Then they would close the encore and the show with 'Rock n Roll All Nite'.

If you're reacting to Kiss but only doing the audio, you're missing out big time! Kiss needs to be "SEEN" just as much as heard. Their persona's shine when the camera is on! You may wish to alter your approach in the future. ⭐️👹👨🚀🐱

Saw them in concert long ago, back in the good ole days, a few people from the stage for "Heaven's on Fire" was an amazing show. Went with young adults. I had babysat when they were little, in dress trousers and pearls right from the office. It was days before I could hear properly again.

I love Kiss...my all time fav. Band and i dont care what anyone else thinks...i even got their name tattooed on my ankle.....they got some great songs. The older the better!! Newer ones ok, but the 70s were rocking

Yeah I was caught up in the KISS hype as a 14 year old kid in 1975. I was a member of the KISS ARMY for a couple of years. By the time I saw them in 1978, the novelty had kinda worn off. AC/DC was the opening band, and I had been listening and grooving to them for a couple of years. This song does brings back some good memories though. Great reaction!

I was in 5th grade and my Mom (rip Momma) bought me Kiss Alive double lp!! It was magical. I put that bad boy on my close and play player....I am a card carrying member of the Kiss Army ❤ Thanks Shon for this. It made my day.

One of Kiss' best songs ever! This was their pinnacle. 1976 and I was 7 and this was everything in my world. I wanted to see them so bad in concert but I was too young so I just played air guitar in front of my mirror and pretended I was ACE and part of the band. At this point I had collected all of their albums - Kiss, Dressed to Kill, Hotter than Hell, Kiss Alive, Destroyer and played them all of the time. You wanted the best, you got the best! The hottest band in the world....KISS!

Wow, I never heard the story behind this song before-that’s pretty awesome of them. KISS has always stuck me as pretty, well, _generic_ …which I don’t necessarily mean as a bad thing. Kleenex has become a generic term-because it’s EVERYWHERE! They’ve become part of the definition of rock, which is a pretty special place to occupy.

@@sonofjay817 I can definitely understand that reaction, but I think I see it as KISS assuming (probably correctly) that this is what those fans would have wanted themselves. That might not have been how the fans' families took it, but I do think those fans would have been over the moon.

Seen KISS a number of times from the 80s til just couple years ago. Always an amazing experience unlike any other band. The pyros and antics. KISS needs to be seen not just heard. Even video reactions you need to live concert not audio

I'm so glad you chose the original album version with all the theater in the music. The sound of the car crash actually blends right into the next song, King of The Nighttime World. There's a cartoonish "sproing" sound that Ace turns into a sustained hyper vibrato. It's beyond cool. Don't worry about that fan either. As far as I'm aware that's pure fabrication

They did not start off as a disco band. They had a Disco type of song . Just one. 9 rock albums before the disco song.

@@michaelkeller971, I mean, maybe not Bee Gees disco, but they were clearly disco. The outfits and their style were all disco. Their music was played in discotheques all over the US. Donna Summer, Chic, KC & Sunshine Band, KISS, and ABBA were all listed as top disco bands by Teen Beat magazine.

Kiss was a band better seen live. As musicians and songwriters they were mediocre but they were great showmen, their live shows were incredible.
