You can't miss with her stage performances' As you wander through her world, you will notice that she has an intriguing way of somehow always looking different . . but always stunning. The other fans have given you lots of information, so let me summarize a couple of points: As you travel through the World of Sohyang, remember that she and her personal team do ALL of the arrangements (she arranges the music) for stage appearances (this event won her an award for staging). Several of the vocalists and musicians on stage here are semi-permanent members of her backup team (You will see them in other videos - they are superb). You recognized the gentleman highlighted in the video as Michael Bolton. This concert was in his honor and included only his hit songs. There were many Korean Superstars that performed in it - the camera glimpsed several of them. You've given us two great reactions. Keep going. Thank you for reacting. Please react to Sohyang’s 'Arirang Alone'. I believe it’s is from Immortal Songs series. It is Sohyang’s rendition of a Korean folk song that is almost akin to a national anthem, I believe speaking to hopes of some future reunification, but it is beautiful, captivating and somehow manages to instill a feeling of national hope and pride, even in someone like me with no ties to Korean heritage. It’s just wonderful.

She is amazing. Her performance of Everyone is a master class. I personally love her performance of You Raise Me Up and Wildflower from Immortal Songs 2. You should also check out her songs from King of Masked Singer. Her version of Home is stunning. She does her own arrangements. When you are done switch over to an amazing Chinese singer Zhou Shen. He is incredible.

After this performance, Michael Bolton invited her to Madison Square Garden to perform onstage with him. Just an FYI... she does her own arrangements to all the songs she covers.

She is a goddess with very beautiful high notes. Everything is controlled by God's power. She has that ability. So she expressed rich emotions in her high notes. It can be delivered.

The "Immortal Songs" program that you`ll see often is not a just cover song, but a competition of various arrangements of each singer. During the performance, there is another lady who was captured about 3 times dancing to Sohyang's performance is Lena Park (JungHyun Park). She was winning after 6 singers and it was between her and Sohyang to win the competition. Perhaps many people exptected Lena to win as she was known as the best singer in Korea in terms of talent through "I Am A Singer" show. Although Sohyang started to gain fame through "I Am A Singer 2," this performance in front of Michael Bolton and his comment made her the best singer, not only for this competition, but of all Korea. During the interview before the performance of "Arirang Alone" (Sohyang's 2nd performance in Immortal Songs 2), Sohyang said her performance of "Lean on Me" before Michael Bolton changed her life. Lena sang "Completely" in this episode of Michael Bolton special and Ailee, who is a little bit known in music reaction circle for "I Will Always Love You," sang "Goergia On My Mind." Sohyang has said in an interview that this 2014 performance before Michael Bolton was the most pleasing to her personally up to that point in her career because Michael Bolton is one of her absolutely favourite singers, and because he was so effusive in his praise for her she was satisfied that she and her team could produce similarly world class songs and performances. And hey, Michael Bolton told her she was a vocal "virtuoso" after the concert and invited her to join him for the rest of his South Korean tour. How do you beat that? Well, Michael Bolton can offer to take you on an entirely new world tour making you the featured guest--and that is _exactly_ what he did! Unfortunately, or not, the two could not make their schedules match no matter how hard they tried and the tour never materialized. This was actually fairly depressing for Sohyang because she really wanted to go BIG TIME in the music business at that exact moment but everything seemed to conspire against her. Pneumonia problems would crop up and this has been a chronic problem for Sohyang. She would later recognize this as God's way of preventing her from getting caught up in the North American and European music industry that would have been destructive to her character at that time. Sohyang is humble enough and courageous enough to confess she had become so ambitious that she was an ugly person, short tempered with other people and not treating them with proper respect. I know, my jaw hit the floor when I read the interview too! Sohyang a _mean person?_ Say it ain't so! But we all have times where we are embarrassed at how we behaved and Sohyang is just a human being, like the rest of us. Two years later in 2016 Sohyang was almost ready to quit the entire music business because her health problems were so bad. Yet she had given her truly immortal performances of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Arirang Alone," "Everyone" and "I Have Nothing" only the previous year in 2015, and "The Prayer" and "Power Of Love" in 2014--songs _any_ diva who has ever walked the earth would _kill_ to have in their repertoire! So she plundered her bank account and took a trip to New York, Boston and Philadelphia. In the latter city Sohyang saw a quote from President Franklin Roosevelt where he had said in his inaugural address during the Great Depression of the 1930s that "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." This proved so inspirational for her that when she got back to South Korea she entered the "King of the Masked Singers" contest in 2017 and won it on six consecutive occasions! Still the pneumonia dogged her so badly she knew it was God's way of telling her she had to reassess why she had become a singer in the first place. And that was to sing to lift people's spirits who were going through hard times. In 2018 David Foster himself did eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club and it is thought he offered to be the producer for new recordings of her. But she had been really reconsidering her purpose in life and decided the Hollywood lifestyle was the last thing she truly wanted, and in 2020 she turned down a contract offer from Sony Music US, _the 2nd largest music corporation in the world!_ And there were many others before that going back a decade or so! Since then Sohyang has been resolute in her decision to stay away from the music "industry" and manage her own career for the purposes she had started it all with. I for one can't express how happy I am she has chosen the path she did because she is one of the most inspirational people I have ever come across in my entire life, and I know countless others feel exactly the same way. 👌😉💖💖💖 And here is what Michael Bolton told Sohyang after this performance.
