Eh sì ! Questo io l’ho sempre detto anche per altri nostri grandi artisti del passato. Gente nata da quelle parti con capacità e talento minori, hanno invece conquistato il mondo, diventando delle star mondiali. Abbiamo avuto diversi artisti in Italia che meritavano di diventare delle star mondiali, e che gran parte del mondo non ha avuto la fortuna di conoscere ed apprezzare.

"Again, again, again" is a great song by Mina, written by Cristiano Malgioglio in 1978. At the time, it caused a scandal for its explicit reference to a woman's independent and liberated sexual and sensual life, but it was in tune with the times: in Italy in 1978, the law on abortion was approved and parental authority, which limited women's rights, was abolished. Mina's voice is unique, and in her songs, there was rebellious Italy projected into a poetic future. Fun fact: this actual video clip was the outro of a song TV show, on the first national (Italian state) channel. TV governance viewed the recording of the TV show episode before they put it on air, then they forced the show director to "zoom in" this videoclip's cutscenes and to blur part of them because Mina's movements were considered too sensual for a State TV. Apparently, zooming in and the blurring effects made the videoclip even more sensual instead. 😅

Wow! Love her voice! I will definitely check out more of her songs! You are right about being able to appreciate an artist/song even if you don’t understand the lyrics. There is a Korean singer (Park Ki Young) that I love. I’ve only found a few of her songs that have subtitles but I love her voice and the feelings that she puts into them. Yeonan Pier ( KBS world on KZfaq) has subtitles if you are interested

HI Sarah, my name is Rossella, from Italy. I noticed in some your videos (like this) you have listened to italian songs by very good and appreciated singers in Italy: can i recommend others too? For example singers like: Giorgia, Laura Pausini, Elisa... Songs: "come saprei" (giorgia), "vivo per lei" (giorgia ft. bocelli)... Also there is a group called "il volo", of which I recommend these songs in particular: grande amore, l'amore si muove, torna a surriento, o' sole mio.. e if you are willing to hear some classical music you must listen to the "Notte Magica" concert in Florence. especially songs "libiamo nei lieti calici", "la danza", "una furtiva lagrima", and "e lucevan le stelle".
