Both my dad and my mom are gone, now. I wasn't there when my dad died, but it still hit me really hard. He was only 54 years old, but had been through WW2 and then a huge personal battle with both alcohol and cigarettes, plus he was a carpenter, back in the days when asbestos was a big thing. He had finally defeated the alcohol, which gave him back my mom and all of us kids, because she left him when I was 12 and all my siblings were younger, with the promise to return when he beat the bottle. Still, I was just 22, with two kids of my own when his both his lungs and his heart finally gave in to all the stress he'd been through from the time he had been 18 and joined the army. I was able to get to Valdez in time for his funeral, and then we had a family gathering that evening, and I was able to stay with Mom and my three siblings for several days before I had to go back to work in Anchorage. We know where he went. He was always a strong believer. Still... When my mom passed away in 2014, she had been seeing Daddy and angels in her room (at a local care home by that time...she was almost 90) for several weeks, when she went on home, too. My oldest daughter was visiting here with us at the time, with her two daughters, and we all kept a watch with her for her last two days. My sister didn't get back from a trip to Arizona until the morning right after she passed away, so that was really hard on her, too. The two of my three daughters that were here (the oldest, and the youngest, with whom David and I live, now) sang to Mom, keeping her smiling for her last hours, and Jen played Shoji Tobuchi's violin music for her because she and he had been corresponding and sharing their musical styles and experiences for several years, by then, and she had gotten to meet him and his family in Branson just a couple of years before. She went with a smile on her face, listening to music that was amazingly like what she herself had played for so many years, and Jen (who stayed with her all that night) said she was talking to my dad and to Jesus, when she left. So...yeah...this song (no matter who sings it...grabs me really hard, but I appreciate it very, very much. Thanks for your great reaction, Matt. HUGS!

Hhmmm. Beautiful, touched my heart. I unfortunately watched my father pass over into heaven in 2008. One of the hardest things I endured. But he was a godly man and I do miss him. I have no doubt where he is. This song brought good memories. Thank you
