Actually parts of this were from Beatles/John Lennon songs. The opening part, just close your eyes and think about the beginning of the song "Imagine" the beginning part. The song itself is about not being upset about the things you might have said or done yesterday, which is quite appropriate at the moment. It's about looking forward rather than looking back. The part about Going to start a revolution from my bed is a line that John Lennon had on one of his cassettes that he was recording on and said at The Dakotas about how him and Yoko were going to start a revolution from their bed.Just thought I would chime in with some useless info. Btw the name Sally isnt a real person but it just worked in the song.

Oasis were the ones who brought the Beatles style of songs & music into the 90's... altho this song was not sung by the band's main lead singer Liam Gallagher... his older brother Noel Gallagher did the vocals ( he was also the band's main songwriter)

The song is actually just the opposite in fact. Sally is Sally Cinnamon from the band the Stone Roses and he is saying that fame and fortune can wait because love is more important to him. He is using the girls as a metaphor for how appealing the life of fame can be but he wants to stay grounded and that fame can wait if it is going to interfere with his chasing his first love. Dont look back in anger is something that his girlfriend said to him about the possibility of him missing out on fame for her. She didn't want him to look back in anger about his decision but he told her that it was already too late

welp.. it's true i'm here to say that you don't know what your talking about.. not because you ain't a smart man.. its because even the singer/songwriter has any idea what this song is about. He said he wrote it when he was incredibly hung over.. and has no idea who Sally is other than his brother suggesting to add that to the song cause it made it seem more personal.
