@@cbobobo8384 Yeah! I have a copy of DSotM that is recreated from that 4 way track into 5.1, it sounds incredible. It's about the only older album other than Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells that was made for quad sound. Think it was a bit gimmicky and used for classical music mostly but I'm not a music historian, just an old listener.

Pink Floyd takes the listener on a journey with each and every song, they speak to the soul! Pink Floyd is a Rock band formed in London in 1965, they have sold over 300 million albums worldwide, second only to The Beatles, (600 million!). They are considered the GOAT in Progressive Rock history. You should check some of the songs on their 1994 Pulse Tour Live, songs like "Comfortably Numb",... "Sorrow",... "High Hopes",... "Money",... "Learning to Fly", ... just a few of the phenomenal performances at that concert tour!

I still contend that 'Dark Side of the Moon" is the most perfect album ever recorded. Highly recommended to listen start to finish with headphones on. If you have to react to one other song from the album, it has to be 'Great Gig in the Sky'. "Wish You Were Here" - the album after this one - is another masterpiece and "The Wall" after that is amazing. And all of us want to learn to play guitar like David Gilmour; one of the greatest guitarists ever. Hope you listen to more PF and more rock. There's SO much of it that will blow your mind in the best ways possible.

Someone mentioned about Pompeii. Pink Floyd recorded a video for their song, Echoes Part 1 & 2 at the ancient Coliseum back in the 70's. Back then, it was considered 1st live event since 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted and destroyed ancient Pompeii. Back in 2016, guitarist, David Gilmour returned to Pompeii with his solo band to have a concert at the same Coliseum.

The intro is the moments that make up a dull day ;) Classic PF. Language on another level. From cradle (waking up with the alarm clocks), to the grave, (tolling of the iron bell). The only control you have is what you do with it in the moments between these two things. You got it, come back to in in 20 years ;)

Love seeing new people discover Pink Floyd. I had listened to the album Dark Side of the Moon which this song is from, many times. At age 25, I was a soldier stationed in Germany and was listening to this song when I had that "mid-life" crisis you spoke of. I had the realization that I had not actually begun to live my life, I was merely living through each day with no real direction for where I may be headed. I'll be 60 this year, and still love the music of Pink Floyd. If you like the music, here is a little trivia related to where they got the bands namesake. Search the country blues duo, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. You just might be shocked as to their early influence.....

Classic. You need to do Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd. Very long song but worth it. Many of their songs have long buildups. They were masters of anticipation. I was fortunate as a kid that I had I diverse group of friends. I came up on rap, rock, oldies, country, pop and all other sorts of music. It's a shame how some people came up with such a narrow selection when there are so many great artists out there of all types. Glad you got the message of this song as well. As we get older time goes by much quicker so it's important to cherish every moment we can.

Now go back and listen without the pressure of feeling you have to perform for your base. Let the experience lift your soul as you remain silent

great gig in the sky is a must - comes right after Time - believe me it will blow your mind and will be much more like you are used to in terms of sound.

COMFORTABLY NUMB by Pink Floyd at LIVE-PULSE is a must with one of the greatest performances AND accompanying Light show but you MUST promise NOT to pause the second guitar solo and I will say no more but you will love it. :)

There were a very few music groups out there, that combined incredible talent and creativity with the weed smoking profound seeking culture of the 1970's and Pink Floyd was it.

Love to see the maturity, in one so young, that listening to great older music demonstrates. This will enhance your whole life.

"Us And Them" is the true gem on "Dark Side Of The Moon",but with an album full of killer tracks, that's a big call on my part (possibly because it's my favourite)

Great reaction Jayshara :-) Take the 'time' to listen to the whole album from beginning to end. Each PF album tells a story and has a distinctive sound. Each song is like a chapter in a book, best read from beginning to end. This album dates back to 1973 when musicians had to build a sound from scratch. With PF you can travel to another place with long intros, story telling and masterful instrumentals. The next song on this album, The Great Gig In The Sky, features a female singer and will BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF :-)

The greatest band to ever pick up instruments, their story is so interesting. Sadly I never got to see them all together live but seen gilmour once & waters twice.. amazing shows I wish you could post pics on here. Money is a great song, still relevant as hell
