Astounding that this was recorded in 1975, 44 years ago and it still sounds as good today as when I first heard it all those years ago. @Darragh O'Shea - I was born in 1949 (yes, I AM 70) and grew up with The Beatles and then with Queen. Am I lying? Nope. Saw both groups live, Beatles in '64, '65 and '66 and Queen in 1980, all in Toronto. Queen was the best live act I ever saw. The Beatles were great but hampered by awful technology for their concerts and screaming girls so you couldn't hear a darned thing.

@Darragh O'Shea Why? I was born in 1960 and was a Queen fan as a 15-16 year old... I am now 59 years old.... what is "fishy" about a 64 year old liking Queen? so he was in his early twenties when he became a fan?
@GinMae

@@susieq9801 Yep - some of us came to it younger or older than others.. note that I am 59 - came to love Queen at 15/16 -- but some people only NOW 15/16 are just discovering them... so ... GOOD for them... doesn't matter how old/young.. we all have the capacity and the privilege to appreciate amazing musical talent!

It is not the best PERFORMANCE ever, not even from Queen (Check Newcastle '79) But the video quality is phenomenal and Freddie's voice is in great shape. He can also react to Live Aid. About Wembley, Freddie's voice was pretty tired and he avoided many notes from nearly every song. You can still find great vocals in the impromptu (3 seconds Bb5).

I actually loved how your head just stopped bobbing cold at the "Magnifico." You were bumping and grooving, and then it's like a bolt of lightning struck. It's almost like you couldn't believe exactly what you heard with the layered vocals, combined with the visual effect done seemingly DECADES before an effect like that should've even been possible. It took a good long while for you to come down from it, too! As many have said in other reaction videos to the song, music like this just isn't made anymore - or at least, not the major commercial stuff you find on the radio. If you want art, you have to go back to the roots - to the independent, talented musicians who create art, and not merely a song. Queen was, simply put, art.

Queen has songs for every mood. They have ballads like someone to love and love of my life which are both amazing live, they have up beat songs like don't stop me now or good old fashion lover boy, anthems like we will rock you and we are the champions, harder songs like stone cold crazy. All their songs are good and they are so versatile and unique. I recommend any of the song listed about along with Save me live in Montreal, the love aid performance, who wants to live forever live version, I want to break free and its a hard life official music video or the show muat go on or I want it all.

The harmony of the opening voices was all done by the lead singer, Freddie Mercury. He wrote the song. They put so many tracks over each other on the tape to get the sound Freddie envisioned, that the tape was almost worn out. Yes, it is a work of art, and done with very limited technology available at the time.

My 2 girls was raised up on Queen and now my grandson listens to them now. If you want another great song to listen to is somebody to love original video and you can see how talented they were in 1975. They did everything music at all was them. If not this song, maybe you heard some of Queen's other works such as "we will rock you" "we are the champions", "another one bites the dust", "crazy little thing called love". Its ok if you don't know the true meaning. A popular possible interpretation is that its lead singer Freddie Mercury is coming to terms with his sexuality as bisexual or gay and symbolically, the old straight Freddie is "dead". In general, the band didn't always reveal the meanings to their songs so the "mama just killed a man" part might be abstract and could mean anything. Not just Queen songs, but there are a lot of musical pieces across genres that are there for the sake of enjoyment and suspending reality. Also, for that matter, poetry doesn't always have to make sense. Also, its pronounced bow-hee-mee-uhn. The best part about Queen is their music transcend genres and generations. they are still a breath of fresh air. I hope you keep listening to more of their music! Enjoy!

Great reaction, thanks! Yes, do more Queen. You surely have heard "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" by Queen, these songs are used in many big sports events until today. But many people don't know that tose songs are by Queen. Please react to Somebody To Love by Queen, live in Montreal 1981, it's a good choice to keep going with Queen, it's in Gospel style, also with a lot of harmonies and backup choir singing, although they were only four musicians on stage. Or try "Another One Bites The Dust", with a cool funky bass line. It has been #1 in the US in 1981.

If you want to know more about this song, there is a video called 'Inside The Rhapsody'. The song was written by the lead singer Freddie Mercury, sadly he died in 1991 of AIDS. But the video has the Queen band members Brian May (Lead Guitar/vocals/songwriter) and Roger Taylor (Drums/vocals/songwriter) discussing how the song came about and the making of the video which was groundbreaking in its day. It ends with Brian talking you through the master of the original recording and how it was made. The work that went into this one song is fascinating. I hope you check out more of Queens songs as they were a very diverse band whos songs range from love songs to diss tracks and from speed metal to ragtime. Not to mention being voted the best live rock performance ever for their 20 min set at the charity concert Live Aid in 1985. A few other live performances you might want to check out - Somebody To Love @ Montreal '81, White Queen @ Hammersmith Odeon '75 and Love Of My Life @ Wembley '86. Also the studio version of Death On Two Legs, a diss track aimed at their former manager who was ripping the band off! I could name so many more, but that will do for a start.

Freddie Mercury died in 1991 from HIV. Brian on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums still tour with Adam Lambert doing vocals out front! I grew up with Queen. I'm 59 years young man, gay and as an Aussie DJ I love all music! Welcome to the addiction of Queen!

Great reaction bro. The part where they synchronize there voices in music is called the harmony. You’re spot on, it’s quite amazing. Harmonies are some of the best parts of classic songs.

Your reaction today was almost the exact same one as mine in 1975 when I first heard Bohemian Rhapsody. I just couldn't believe it! It was beyond beautiful, and will always be one of the greatest rock songs of all time! Well done! You must watch Queen live! Try the 1981 Montreal concert. All the songs are epic, but Somebody To Love is one of Freddie's greatest recorded live vocals! Great reaction, keep Queen coming!

JG - It is obvious you appreciate good music and art. Unlike many people of your generation you NEVER ONCE interrupted the video to comment. Thank you from Freddie's fans!! (66 yr ld white dude here in Northern California) WELCOME to FREDDIE!!!! One word though: WEMBLY!! IT is a MASSIVE soccer stadium in England where Queen performed. Check it out - astounding!!! Again - thank you for being so appreciative ! IT is nice to see someone enjoying Queen - especially for the first time. Lately I've been observing many black Americans that are mostly into R&B and Hip Hop really enjoying this!! Great to see!! Also if you would like to see pure White Soul - check out The Righteous Brothers - "You're My Soul and Inspiration" CLASSIC!! If you close your eyes you could swear they are black singers! Wonderful stuff! JUST SUBBED!!!

6:53 it is a rhapsody: "A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. An air of spontaneous inspiration and a sense of improvisation make it freer in form than a set of variations."

It's ment to sound like different songs. It's built and structured like a classical opera, which is what makes it a timeless gem. And to know that they didn't use auto-tune or digital effects but actually played and sang it like that with just overdubbing back in that era makes it a true masterpiece. Thanks for just listening to it and not pausing it every 20 seconds to give commentary, that deserves a sub man.

I love the way it was put together and that captivated me! Yeah I think about that every time I listen to this, all the technology used in music today wasn't available back then! You welcome and I find that toxic, music is art and I will not stop it to give my feedback. Always at the end, its not about me its about the music.

I LOVE watching people who have never heard Queen before! I watch lots of reactions! This came out 44 years ago and I was 21. Every one of these reactions to Queen include the reactor's jaws hanging open and the amazement of Freddy Mercury's talent, Brian May's guitar, Roger Taylor's drums, and the bass of John Deacon! You are now hooked... Listen to some of the other memorable songs of this band and accept that your perception of music will be altered forever!

Green Day have Bohemian Rhapsody playing before they come on stage at their concerts. The crowd go nuts singing it all the way through it. They say they have never experienced anything like it. There is a video from one of their London gig (open air) where u can watch this on KZfaq. Well worth a watch!

You and many of your generation have so much to hear and learn from, the generation I grew up with had music like this all our lives. Music that had real stories, true passion, music composed and created by people that had such artistic and spiritual talent that came from their souls like this one.. Welcome to our world, go and explore the rest of our world in music history.. The songs that sings to our hearts and enters our souls.. I raised my 20 and 26 year old with this music and farther back so that can learn and experience what real music is..

Few recommendations when you listen to Queen even if you don't do video reaction: -ALWAYS use headphones -NEVER interrupt the video (grateful you didn't and it was a glitch) - Prepare to be blown away -Keep your mind open to all their material, quite different in every song -Truly enjoy the experience, there was only ONE Freddie Mercury, will never be duplicated at least in our lifetime Suggestions: Somebody to love Montreal Cool Cat Death on two legs Under pressure Another one bites the dust We are the champions The list goes on! Good luck trying not to get hooked, have you seen the movie? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I just watched it in Crave for the 10th time and not ashamed to admit my addiction! Have fun!

I listen to it everyday (literally) when I drive to work. Freddie how the hell did you write a song like that?.. darling
