This song came out in 1975 (about 6 years before MTV was born - they were ahead of their time!). I was 15 and it just blew me away (along with millions of others)! I got Freddie'd then and there. He owned the stage. Trivia: he had 4 extra teeth. He never had them removed, as he didn't want to take the chance of anything negatively affecting his performance. Brian May, the guitarist, made that guitar with his dad, using items from their home!

Bohemian Rhapsody was written by Freddie Mercury. Have you ever heard of the song "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions" or "Another One Bites the Dust"? These are all Queen compositions and hits. Queen remained together as a group until 1991 when Freddie Mercury passed away due to complications from AIDS. John Deacon retired from performing shortly after Freddie's death. He and Freddie were very close, and couldn't continue to perform without Freddie. John was only 19 and still at university when he joined the band in 1971. Freddie immediately took him under his wing and began mentoring him (Freddie was 24 at the time). They remained very close like big brother/little brother and when Freddie died, it affected John very hard. Brian and Roger continue to perform as Queen, currently with Adam Lambert singing lead. Adam is extremely talented but he is no Freddie.

Let me introduce you the Queen: Freddie Mercury the lead singer and pianist, Brian May the guitarist, John Deacon the bassist and Roger Taylor the drummer, they all were highly graduated. Queen is the most versatile rock band, they wrote their own stuff in several genres from rock to jazz, to pop, etc. about 200 songs. Freddie never took singing lessons, but his powerful and emotional performances are still legendary. Freddie had 3 unfinished songs and he put them together into this masterpiece. This was the first music video for promotional purposes. Why is it so famous? It was absolutely uniqe in that era, they played never heared harmonies, they multilayered the vocals (in the first part Freddie is hamonizing with himself), they created an operatic section and then the rock'n'roll came in. So, from previous comments, you have learned that Queen is a big deal. The beginning "four heads" a Capello intro is all lead singer, Freddie Mercury, who recorded and mulitracked the harmonies. The later harmonies were, again, muiltitracked by band members to create a choir sound.(Drummer Roger Taylor, famously provided the upper "GALILEO" and "For ME!!" Everything you hear is FOUR BAND MEMBERS working together.👑

I can't remember the name it was something like Wild Orchid, Fergie's first group (Black Eyed Peas). They did a cover of this one.

I remember this from the original release when I was a kid. What bothers me is that It was re-released as a "classic" for Wayne's World over 30 years ago. Damn I am old somehow. I hate the song so I didn't watch the video. Load of pretentious crud.
