He was so ill and had such a horrible throat infection that his doctor told him not to perform. He drank a glass of whiskey and sang his best. His band mates helped him hit the highest notes when he was fading toward the end. I remember seeing this at the time. It was AMAZING!!!!

I'm almost at 34 years of Having HIV,SO IM GLAD THAT,OMG IM FINALLY UR FIRST COMMENT!! KEEP up the good work honey,so glad you've gone back to reacting to music videos instead of just politics like everyone else is doing it right now. ur viewers will come back we love you! I am 52-yr-old Caucasian woman and I look for ur videos everyday! I hope ur numbers come back up because ur a great reactor & U seem like a genuinely honest good human being. I am touched by this performance as I was diagnosed with HIV in 1988 at 18 yrs old. It will be 34 years this Christmas and with the medication I test undetectable which means there's no virus left in my body to catch you can Google what HIV undetectable means. Thank you for this particular reaction.🎀🎀red bows for HIV/Aids

This was Queen's finest hour and the best live performance in music history. Even more impressive when you consider Freddie Mercury was very sick here but delivered what was the best live performance of all time. Great reactions! Check out "Love Of My Life" live from two shows: 1985 in Rock In Rio & 1986 from Wembley Stadium. You'll love it!

They only had 23 minutes to perform for each group performing. All the great groups were there for LIVE AID They all played for free and it was broadcast all over the world. Where it could be. There were a billion viewers. LIVE AID was for a famine that was happening in AFRICA.

HEY Hon, THANK YOU for the great reaction… FYI - at least regarding Live Aid - you DON’T need to alter/cover up the video image to avoid being blocked. (Other reactors post Live Aid reactions on a regular basis w/o doing this.) I don’t usually even watch reaction vids that have been altered visually like this (I’ll just go watch a different one w/ a not-covered-up image😄) …but I did my best to watch yours to the end, cuz you’re doing a great job reacting.🖖 P.S. If you DO ever run into problems w/ official Queen vids being blocked, you can “get around” that by using “unofficial” versions of the SAME vids from channels independently-owned by devout Queen fans… like the CHIEF MOUSE channel; there are several others too. (These vids are often in BETTER HD quality than the originals anyway, cuz they’ve been REMASTERED.) …I PROMISE I’ll be back and subscribe if you do any more Freddie Mercury reactions (w/o his face covered up)! SUGGESTIONS: “SOMEBODY TO LOVE” live at MILTON KEYNES BOWL, 1982 (There’s a BETTER HD version of the vid on the CHIEF MOUSE channel.) ALSO: “FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS” live at MILTON KEYNES, 1982 “ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST” live at MONTREAL, 1981 “UNDER PRESSURE” live at WEMBLEY STADIUM, 1986 “WHITE QUEEN” live at ODEON HAMMERSMITH, 1975 FREDDIE MERCURY’S LIVE AID ENCORE: “IS THIS THE WORLD WE CREATED?” (This vid is on the official Live Aid channel.) 🖖💕👑

I was 10 years old when Live Aid was on TV here in Australia and it was ground breaking for its time. I will nver forgot the footage they played of all of the dying children in Africa as the song 'Drive' by The Cars was played. There was not a dry eye in our house....It was also the first time that a musician (being Phil Collins) had played on a two stages in two idifferent countries during the same concert..He flew on a Concord and played both stages on the same day. It was so exciting as Phil Collins called from the plane as that just wasn't possible in that day. You need to watch the entire concert, it's truly amazing. Sadly, there were some American bands and musicians at the time who refused to partake in he concert and Live Aid is also the reason that the song 'Heal the World' was written as UK bands had previously released 'Do They Know It's Christmas' to raise money for starving and dying children in South Africa.

Glad you did this vid. But I hate it when reactors keep the video volume lower to have their own voice louder. You went too much on this one. Audio of the video was too low. Still thumbs up though because I'm a fan of yours. I look forward to seeing my reactors do this video, but I had to stop early on, just because it bugged me so much that the audio was so poor. (Of the song itself, I mean. Your audio was fine)

You do realize this wasn't a Queen Concert? Multiple bands played for this fundraiser. Queen was on the B list as a fill if a band on the A list couldn't appear. Queen wasn't even on the program for the concert. Just in case, Queen worked-up a set to fill the allotted twenty minutes each band was given. And, no. Freddie really didn't play the guitar, he just strummed a few chords. An interviewer once asked: "And what instrument do you play?" Freddie: " The audience, darling."
@bluebell3720
@bluebell3720 2 жыл бұрын
I've never seen anything that they were on any B list? Geldof asked them at an award show to be apart of it but they didn't confirm at the time. the tickets were sold before Queen confirmed. never seen anything to suggest they were a fill in if someone dropped out. once they confirmed they were given a proper slot Freddie wouldn't consider himself a guitarist but was above learner level. he wrote CLTCL on guitar and played rhythm on the track. he wrote all of ogre battle on guitar. the riff for Bo Rap on guitar. on his songs apart from the solo which Brian did he wrote all the other guitar parts and probably the solo for CLTCL as there was a recording of him playing the solo Brian said Freddie wrote a lot of good things for guitar and made him play in a way he wouldn't think of playing
