OK Computer is my favorite Radiohead album and it's definitely an album in my "desert island" collection! (although I'd want to take hundreds of albums to the island! 🤣) I spent many long all-nighters listing to OK Computer on repeat backing in the day when I was doing programming for a living.

There is no album I have listened to more in the last 25 years or so than OK Computer. It's an utter masterpiece from Airbag to The Tourist. I think you'd really enjoy all of it.

No Surprises--for a happy sounding pop song, deep/dark lyrics...excellent. Nice to hear a glockenspeil too. Subterranean Homesick Alien--pleasantly weird, spacey(as befitting the title)--bordering on psychedelic. Almost a Pink Floyd vibe here, superb

I can't glean from your comment if this was your first experience with the songs or commentary on familiar tracks, but if Subterranean was a fresh listen and it piqued interest, I humbly recommend spinning the RH album 'In Rainbows'. As one of the resident Floyd aficionados around these here parts, it scratches that itch beautifully. Peak Radiohead imho. Cheers!

When I saw them at Glastonbury 97, No Surprises played at midnight with the fireworks. Man, I was rapt and so overwhelmed ❤❤ Homesick Blues is also so magical 😊

Subterranean was on the short list to share with ya a while back, but I seem to remember holding it back, thinking it'd make a great candidate for the show. It was THE song that opened my ears/mind to what Radiohead "is", and made me hear everything I'd discover later - and even what I'd already heard - through that new filter of understanding, if that makes sense. What a vibe. [EDIT - obviously written before getting to your post-song review lol Glad you enjoyed m'friend!]

Great to hear Radiohead again! I haven’t listened to this album in awhile. I definitely liked SHA better of the two. It’s been a good week so far! 🙂

The transition from Climbing Up The Walls to No Surprises is devastating, in fact it's one of the best on an album I have ever heard. This whole album showed that the spirit of the Beatles and Pink Floyd didn't die it just evolved into Radiohead. All their albums are meant to be listened to as a whole work of art not just a bunch of great songs even though there are a bunch of great songs on the album (all of them). You need to listen to the whole record in proper oeder to appreciate it fully. To me they are our generations Beatles they have something foe everyone they explore all genres and they blend all of them seamlessly.

Radiohead have something about them. Sorry to hijack this thread but you hinted at an upcoming airing of Strawbs 'Hero and Heroine'. Just had a re-run of this and 'Ghosts'. Got to say again I think Ghosts is the class act... The opening medley is great and 'Life Auction' followed by 'Don't try to change me' (together 11 mins) are the star attractions. 1975... have a listen.
