Not sure I heard you right, but did you just rate Bobby Hatfield pouring his heart and soul into every note of Unchained Melody as 'a solid 8' ? 🙃 For millions, this is The Ultimate performance- off the charts!! Certainly my favourite live performance ever! Breathtaking vocals - Authentic and Incomparable! Chills no matter how many tines I listen to this. RIP Bobby Hatfield 💦💖

You gotta think this my first time hearing it and 8 is far from terrible
@lesliegeddes1569
@lesliegeddes1569 3 жыл бұрын
@@JaiWin No 8 is not terrible at all, but it feels insulting to assign a 'grade' to this undeniably iconic performance. This is a song and performance that has enchanted and melted people's hearts since 1965. Why not go with your genuine reaction comments and leave out any need to rate something this great?

Bobby had a four octave range. He suffered from stage fright which really would have been great as his mom was in the audience. This is live on the Andy Williams show. That sweet smile at the end and biting his bottom lip was a good sign that he knew that he'd *KILLED* it.

This was a live performance on the Andy Williams show there were no do overs, auto-tone or gimmicks Just his God given voice. His performance was effortless, smooth and sheer perfection no one will ever compare to this performance. Bobby Hatfield owns this song no one else. Many artists before and after him have done this song but no one can compare.They are really good but Bobby is amazing. You have two listen two the two Righteous Bros together ❤️

Bobby was 25 at the time of this performance. You said something about being nervous because of all the people around him. Bobby told the story later that he was nervous because his Mom was in the audience. That smile and little lip bite at the end show he knew he nailed it. This was on a tv variety show called The Andy Williams Show. You might like the video that takes place after this song. Bill Medley (the other "Brother") and Andy join Bobby on stage for an entertaining and funny version of What'd I Say. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ga1zn9lqrLG9naM.html

The Artists and Bands that rose to fame from the early 1960's through the1970' were seasoned performers. Not in age but hours executing their craft. Bobby Hatfield is 1/2 of the Righteous Brothers duo. This Live TV performance was telecast in the early 1965. He wasn't quite 24.5 years old, By this point, with his partner Bill Medley the two had accumulated thousands and thousands of hours singing together. Whether it was Live shows, touring, rehearsing, recording singles and albums, or Live TV performances. The Righteous Brothers are Legends because they put in the dedicated, and not always glamorous. hard work. Todays Artists are at a disadvantage. Because these types of venues, in which to improve their craft, barely exist. Outstanding reaction J W. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Best of luck, RNB

Bobbie was 25 years old when he sang that song. He went to be with the Lord when he was 63. Bill medley is still alive in his 80s and singing in Las Vegas. Still with an alternate substitute for Bobby. Listen to Bobby’s, summertime, and bills, I just wanna make love to you, and both of them singing, you’ve lost that loving feeling, and you’ll never walk alone. You’ll love each of these as much as you do unchained Melody.

Bobby passed away at age 64 from a cocaine drug overdose. Not sure which year....2013 maybe? He was like 22 yrs old when he sang this song as a solo release. His partner bill medley is still alive today at approx 80 yrs old....and STILL PERFORMS!!!!! Bobby was so special is all I can say. He struggled with a real bad heart his last years....and the cocaine was just too much for his heart. Some say the cocaine was a lethal dose....others say his heart was failing anyway. He was found in his motel room right before he was scheduled to perform with bill.

C HELLO JAI, CAN YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE LIKE THIS FROM BOBBY HATFIELD (25 YRS) BACK IN 1965. THIS IS WHAT WE NOW CALL "X-FACTOR PLUS". HE SUNG LIKE AN ANGEL. BOBBY SUNG THIS AS A SOLO AS BILL (HIS PARTNER) WAS A BARITONE AND BOBBY HAD A GREATER VOCAL RANGE AS A CONTERTENOR BOBBY SUNG THIS SONG SO SMOOTHLY, SWEETLY, SOFTLY, SENSUALLY & WITH SOUL GRIPPING PASSION THAT WAS SO PURE, CLEAN, CLASSY, ELEGANT & POWERFULLY B E A U T I F U L I HAVE HEARD MANY VERSIONS OF THIS SONG INCL ELVIS, NIEL DIAMOND, ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK, BUT BOBBY SUNG IT THE BEST - PERIOD. HE TRULY OWNS THIS PARTICULAR SONG I HAVE SEEN MANY GIRL REACTORS AND MOST WERE SO EMOTIONAL OR TEARY OR SPEECHLESS OR OVERWHELMED OR SIMPLY "fell in love" WITH BOBBY AND HIS PERFORMANCE.

They are a dual but it was decided by them that Bobby Hatfield would do this as a solo,he was one of those rare tenors called a countertenor and a 4 octave vocal range he was completely at ease hitting those high soprano notes,it was all natural talent nothing fake,this was only one of 2 solos he did you might like to hear him sing one of his big hits called Ebb Tide,its a vocal video only but you can find it on KZfaq,plus he and partner Bill Medley were great together.

Good reaction. I give an 8. Bobby Hatfield: KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Righteous Brothers singer Bobby Hatfield's death in November was caused by cocaine and not just heart failure, according to the official autopsy report. Dr. Richard Tooker, chief medical examiner for Kalamazoo County, told the Kalamazoo Gazette in Tuesday's editions that Hatfield's death was triggered by acute cocaine intoxication. Hatfield, 63, died Nov. 5 just hours before a Righteous Brothers concert. He and his partner, Bill Medley, had hits like Unchained Melody, and You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling. "This is a shock to me," Medley told The Orange County (Calif.) Register from his Newport Beach, Calif., home. "I never saw him (use cocaine). I knew absolutely nothing about it. If I had known, I would have said something to him." An initial autopsy found Hatfield had advanced coronary disease. A heart attack due to the disease was listed on Hatfield's death certificate. However, Tooker said a final cause of death was not determined until after toxicology reports were completed. The death certificate will be changed to reflect cocaine as the cause of death, he said. Tooker's office received the report of cocaine intoxication on Dec. 24, but he asked for the information to be released after the holidays out of respect to Hatfield's family. Messages left Tuesday with Tooker and the William Morris Agency, which represents the Righteous Brothers, were not returned.
