The other brother was Bobby Hatfield. He was a countertenor. He had an incredible range. He could sing from baritone through tenor and up to what could only be called high soprano. That kind of talent isn't learned, it's God-given. I always admired Bill Medley for his vocal control and full-bodied voice. It was a perfect fit.

Bobby Hatfield had a four or five octave range. Also listen to “Soul & Inspiration”, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on the Ed Sullivan Show. Listen to Bobby’s soul in “Summertime” and Bill’s soul in “I Just Want to Make Love to you”. I think their different voices compliment each other, so I can’t really choose who is better.

Bill is the tall one with the deep Baritone and Bobby is the one that can hit the higher notes but together they were know as the blue eyed soul brothers and them singing together was just amazing. Loved your reaction. There is another one of theirs you might like Your my soul and inspiration another old classic but just as good as you lost that loving feeling. Everyone thinks they are brother but they are not they got their name from a show they did and still didn’t have a name and someone in the audience yelled righteous brother and they love it and became the Righteous Brothers.

In terms of range Bobby’s is a countertenor and can flip from a bass register to tenor and imediatly to countertenor… efortless !! He smoothly glide throug the notes , ascending and droping efortless. Noone matches him. Note that He never had vocal lessons, He is a natural voice controler

They did their songs every which way, as far as vocals. They had a deal to each do a solo on their albums. Bobby's range was wider, but Bill has a good range, too. Bobby could sing anything. Anything. Bill was also a good producer, and did most of their album cuts.

Bobby Hatfield died in 2003, due to heart failure brought on by cocaine use. He had a long history of drug abuse problems. But several months before his death, Hatfield and Bill Medley, as The Righteous Brothers, were inducted in person into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. The induction footage is available for viewing here on KZfaq.
