Hes dissing and mocking all the "rappers" who looked down on him and SUGA basically haters were saying RM and Suga aren't real rappers anymore because they became idols (they both were well known underground rappers before joining bts) If you wanna know more about them as individuals watch a guide to bts members, also Hip Hop Lover is a good song to learn about some of the artists they look up too. Also Vocal line songs are just as good!

If u watch a into video I would recommend either Ida S or Taylor Nakamoto because they are the most up-to-date intros if u watch Taylor's it focuses a little more on the members personalities and Ida focused more in their roles in the band idk if unknown but I assume u do know each member has official roles and positions but in bts the font really follow them as much they kinda all do all the roles the only ones I would say people focus on is RM as leader because it is just such and important key role on the band and other ones that people their to focus on is j hope as dance leader he is main dancer and dance leader and while hiking is also a lead dancer with jk and tae being lead dancers j hope will learn the dance fast and then help other members and he will lead the practices backstage and the last one people tend to ficus on is jungkook as main vocal there are 4 other vocal line members jimin, tae, and jin Jim in is the lead vocal and all of them are amazing but because jungkook is the main vocal he usually will be in charge of recording the vocal guides (records the entire song and all the parts and members will fill in) and does a lot of backing vocals This was a very long can and u probably won't read this sorry

There was a rapper who said he couldn't rap anymore after he had a "slow" rap in a BTS song. He's literally calling this type of fast rap with no meaning behind the lyrics a joke. He even says it's all "meaningless wordplay."

ARMY, go easy on these guys, they are reacting to BTS and learning at the same time. Constructive comments get more love than the nasty, bad attitude ones. This is a diss track. He was made fun of from the start. For leaving underground rap scene and joining a idol group. He was told that he can't rap or that his skills were nonexistent or poor. So he decided to make this song were he goes for almost 4 minutes nonstop. Changing his flow over 8 times and his word play is the reason he is known as a lyrical genius. Even other artists have come to him for help writing such as a member from txt. There are explanation videos for most of the bts songs.

RM can rap really fast, but he maintains a wordplay style of rapping. Thanks to this, BTS's rapline is extremely strong. RM has the lyricism, SUGA has the speed and tone play, and JHope has the style and feeling. A lot of RM's work is uderrated for simply not being fast, but his aggressive rapping goes beyond that. JOKE is an amazing song, but the mixtape “RM” has other very good songs, apart from many other songs by him.

“이건 의미없는 말놀이 (This is a meaningless wordplay)” sums up the song pretty well. Apart from it being a message to haters (who believe they are the real rappers and ‘idol rappers’ are fake, in particular), the song is comprised of wordplays with a heavy presence of end rhymes and lines that are not necessarily connected through each other in terms of their meaning. The track really showcases his wordplay ability and the technical aspects of his rapping skills. In his 2015 interview with HIPHOPPLAYA, he said, “‘Joke’ is a song that I wrote the lyrics using stream of consciousness. That’s why the title is ‘Joke.’ There’s nothing hidden in the lyrics, and the song is 500% for the auditory pleasure. I felt a necessity of a song that refreshes the mood without any particular meaning since I’ve included messages and sentiments in other songs. I included what I think are the ‘skills’ of rapping.” hes dissing underground rappers in korea but also just showing off his skills not lyricism per say. you should really go in order for the mixtapes as they usually tie together. joke is track 6 on rm's first mixtape called RM. also i HIGHLY suggest sticking with this lyric channel (af taehyung) theyre one of the best ones. jaeguchi and lemoring channels do not translate correctly even though they usually have the most views.

@@tannie2510 i copied it from doolset which is a trusted korean army who translate all of bts music. also rm says it right in a interview that the song is more about the auditory not the lyrics. even though there are metaphors and entendres doesnt make the song not be meaningless wordplay. if it connected with eachother that would make it not meaningless. example how persona has a overall theme and he expands on it through the song. joke doesnt have a overall theme its a bunch of wordplay that doesnt connect together meaningfully to build a story. hope you get what i mean.

@@tannie2510 I got what you meant. He and Suga took lots of insults from other underground rappers. RM was also mocked by other Idol rapper and never apologized to this date. He was mocked from other fandoms for not meeting the idol beauty standard in which he apologized for not having the face of an Idol with sarcasm on Cypher 4. Joke could just be meaningless and at the same time I find his lyrics dissed many haters. I also took it metaphorically that the haters and other rappers that looked down on him were the "Joke". He actually said during Vlog, "I will show them" before he uploaded this video and he did and he showed more.

You caught on to the "joke", excellent! It's not at all easy to analyze rap in a foreign language and with iffy subs. Thank you! And sorry for all the aggressive comments you no doubt get; our fandom is constantly being exposed to misogyny, racism, ageism etc. so some of us are unfortunately a little trigger happy. Especially the rap community can be rather... close-minded, so many of us have baaad experiences with reactors. I hope you will ignore the worst and continue to engage with the rest of us.💜 We have a large group of rap affecionados in the fandom, and I know how much they adore honest, knowledgable reactors. BTS has a hip-hop tribute in the song HipHop-phile and I look forward to you hearing that, along with the many awesome tracks they have.

RM cares more about saying something with meaning, with a message, feelings - he doesn't care as much about speed....but underground rappers who think only themselves are the 'real' rappers looked down on RM when he left underground and became an idol in BTS, and they also think 'real' rappers should care about flow speed and switch-ups - but their lyrics never say anything meaningful So RM wrote and performed this song as a 'joke' - to show those underground a-holes that even though he left underground and became an idol he can still rap faster and switch it up better than they can, while also rapping meaningless lyrics like they do...IOW, RM is showing them "If you think there's only one way to be a 'real' rapper, I'll show you that I still can do that bull*** better than you! But you can't write poetic meaningful lyrics like me, so who's actually a better rapper??"

So this is from Namjoon first mixtape (released on SoundCloud for free for fans) the title should give it away the entire premise of this song. It's a joke. All of it. The words the speed. The beat is a really famous Run the Jewels song OH my darling (don't cry). Back in the day he was looked down on for leaving underground rap and becoming an idol. Said to be no longer a 'real' rapper. So he is just rapping fast nonsense. To show people are impressed by nothing. Lol

RM is indeed one of the best rappers in the world (for me, he is the best skills-wise, word-play-wise, etc, although Suga is my ult because I love a good emotional rap song, which he does so well). For so many reasons, not the least of which is his flow and his wordplay. “Change” by Wale and RM is an amazing song. Great message, beautiful lyrics, awesome music, I love it. It’s worth listening to, it’s actually on my daily playlist along with RM’s Mono (the opposite of his usual rap, if you want to see some of his range, but it’s not hard rap). RM’s collabs tend to be top tier.

namjoon has incredible wordplay in his songs and, due to his fluency in both korean and english (and japanese in their japanese songs), he is able to combine wordplay involving multiple languages in a single phrase. joon and bts’ music in general includes a lot of cultural, literature, and movie references. many armys are not native korean speakers just like y’all so we can’t always catch on to all of the extremely intricate things that are going on in bangtans music, including metaphors and double entendres. i highly highly recommend reading doolset bangtan’s lyric translations. to make it as easy on y’all as possible, and so no context is lost because their MVs help to tell stories as well, i would recommend watching the MV then reading the lyrics for the song. to my knowledge they have every bts song on there and allow you to just search it up by it’s name

This channel actually had most of the wordplay explained in their description! You could see a little number next to the every Korean word, and in the google doc in the description you could find the explanation under each one of those numbers. Such a shame you missed that! RM is very intelligent. His wordplay goes beyond languages, he uses metaphors that not many people can understand, and a lot of things from Korean culture that need extra explanations. Even though he said there’s a lot of “meaningless wordplay” in this song, he was for most part being sarcastic. Because every single line in this song has layers of meanings, it’s just that he’s much more straightforward in this song compared to the others. Many rappers praise his verses from Joke for his amazing rhyming, switching between flows and cadence, which means after it he was acknowledged as one of the best Korean rappers. Even though his “friends” mocked him for becoming an idol after he left underground rap scene, he proved it all later. As Suga said in one of the Cyphers: “When you play underground, BTS plays above ground”. It not that hard to understand who’s more successful now😂 RM’s second mixtape showed more laid back style of rapping but he has proved many times over how he can be very aggressive if he wants to. We are all looking forward to his solo album that should be dropping soon! Anyways, I really enjoyed this reactions. Please react to more songs from BTS’ rapline together now that you’ve checked them out individually💜

In this song Namjoon (RM) is mocking the people that call themselves “rappers” when they aren’t real ones. It is well known that he, as well as Yoongi (Suga), was an underground artist and that he was being looked down at because he became famous as an idol rather than pursuing a career as a rapper. I think that this song is a way for him to tell them that no matter what path he took and how people perceive him as an idol, he is still a rapper and he has the skills that they don’t. He basically laughs at them and at how pathetic they are, pointing out how different their leagues are and making them feel insignificant. He even brags about how writing the lyrics took him just a short time and that it is easy for him to do so. We don't know exactly who are the ones he dissing but we know for sure that one of them is B-free, who talked a lot of sht about them. He raps his lines with such ease and skills. Some lines are incredibly genius if get the sarcasm and you analyze all the references and some lines don’t make that much sense, but since he is laughing at them, it does make sense in the end. It isn’t a regular dissing song: it is truly like a joke to him. They are a joke, his situation is a joke and writing this track feels like a joke too. I just love so much how he laughs at them for writing meaningless lyrics about overused topics and stereotypes while he kind of does in this song as a Joke. Like come on, RM killed it. 🔥🔥 Fun fact: Namjoon mentioned that he once wanted to be a poet so no wonder why he's so good. Actually, in Korea he's known as "The Philosopher Who Raps" because his work and incredible insight are admirable when they take a look at his lyrics - that all range from incredible wordplay, poetic metaphors, and a perfect and raw encapsulation of what it means to be human. Besides being a genius with a 148 IQ lmao RM is probably my favorite soloist. I just LOVE his voice, lyricism, his fast and slow raps, concepts and basically every song. 💜Thank you for the reaction!

Thank you for reacting!!! Joke is pretty much to all the haters at the begging of their careers that called them sell outs, that they can't rap, etc. because they joined a company and became a member of BTS. This song honestly is mean less wordplay and mostly to show his flow. Personally, I don't think any member is "the best" because they all have their own styles, just like there are different styles of rap. RM-is amazing with wordplay (with Korean and English so it can be hard to understand) and is a poet (he analyzes) Suga-is straight forward but does it in a poetic way. He does do wordplay but mostly with the Korean language. He also is one of the main producers so sometimes the beat for him is more important. (He criticizes) Jhope-Is more of a melodic rapper. He will make you dance but you forget that he is saying some important. (He finds the bright side) ARMY if you can word what I was trying to say or thinking differently pls write below....

I'm loving your reactions, you notice so many interesting details. yeah, isn't this Amazing?? RM is the first rapper I ever liked, and BTS rap is always just good. You are doing great keeping up on the lyrics, there is so much going on in all of their performances and MVs! It is always a re-wind and re- read situation, and you haven't even got to the dancing yet, lol. But seriously, LYRICS is what sets BTS apart for me, their writing is rich and fun and meaningful. And they are really good people, wait till you watch one of the introductions to the group and history. (A lot of us will recommend the Taylor Nakimoto Introduction to BTS). You will probably hear this a lot but for sure Armies never object to longer videos; it is great to watch the lyric and THEN the music video in the same reaction. Just remember to include the full Big Hit intros whenever you do a MV, then no copyright problems. Thanks and have fun!

The song with Wale is really good, so don't hesitate to listen to it. RM has an IQ of 148 and learnt English on his own, he is the only one of the group fluent in English. I highly recommend you to watch BTS Guide to 7 Members to see that the whole group was created around RM. 💜💜💜

I want to remember that this song it's a satire, RM is criticizing all the rappers that think fast flaw is all when it's not. There's no meaning in his lyrics and he knows that. This is a good hip hop song? No. RM knows it's not because he made it for that reason. If you want to listen to real songs by RM you can react to "Intro: Persona"

I recommend watching “The Rise of Bangtan” (at least the first 3-4 Chapters). They are high-quality documentaries about BTS, and you’ll get context for Cyphers 1-4. I’m 47 y/o, and I respect the heck out of these 7 men. They are not a boy band. They are a band of brothers who have exceeded the world’s expectations. They are a new generation of leaders who lead by example. They deserve every award and recognition they have ever earned.

Fun fact: RM ( with also Suga and JHope) is one of the few rappers in the industry who can perform entirely his raps on stage without lypsinging... He already performed this entire mixtape on an intimate stage in their debut, it was insane, the breath control, the flow, the tone, he's a legend... When he diss he talks facts.

His song with Wale, change, is good. It’s a chill rap. Please react to Outro: Tear live at Wembly. Their live performances hit different. Actually chill rap is more RM’s style and he was dissed for that so he made this “joke” song to show that anyone can rap fast and not have substance in the lyrics. It’s actually quite genius in how non-sensical it is, he got his point across.

Okay information: Back while debuting there were 3 main agencies and big hit and other smaller agencies didnt get a chance to be known. Also there were 3 rap scenes, you have the underground rappers, you had idol rappers and solo rappers who werent a mixture of either or worked with either..... Both RM & Suga came from underground rap back then and a couple of the idol rappers thought they were sell outs and like girls who wear make up, they got alot of flack including about their rap skills, hence RM's Joke and Suga (aka Agust D) "Agust D" were released directly against this. You will also find group BTS songs like Cypher pt 1, pt 2, pt 3 & pt 4 but they are tamer because they are part of the BTS rap line itself. Within BTS itself you have lines, Vocal Line, Rap Line, Dance line, people who specialise more in these area's. They will branch off accordingly, songs like the cypher series were part of the rap line of RM, Suga & Jhope.

Watch Agust D (song name and Suga’s name when he does solo projects). And watch Hobi’s live at lollapalooza - you will not regret it. And yea, we like long reactions. RM used to be in underground rapper as Runch Randa and he was well respected. There are tons of screenshot of comments about him, his rap, his performance, even comments on how fellow underground rappers were afraid of battling RM (a 13 yo at that time or maybe older when the comment made) because he's THAT good. I LOVE BTS rapper line and it's so refreshing that the 3 of then have different distinct style. What highlight RM raps is the fact that he never runs out of things to say. Literally. Wordplay, metaphor, simile, etc. He is the expert at that. He's also as versatile as ever. His pre-debut stuff sounds more or so like his first mixtape but then his second mixtape, Mono, was such a shock. I don't want to spoil too much but IT'S REALLY GOOD. Thank you for the reaction, btw!

RM has an IQ of 148, a literal genius, and his wordplay is unmatched. He is the best lyricist I’ve ever heard, and he has a huge hand in writing the lyrics for all BTS albums. It is worth really sitting with the lyrics to his songs and watching explanation videos on them, because the double entendres and meanings are deep. He builds in layers to his songs. That and his ability to rhyme both in Korean and English is mind blowing. I’m so glad you checked this song out.

I'm 61 years young now, but you're the guys I would've ran with back in the day😂. My first Rap experience was Run DMC w/Aerosmith & Beastie Boys & I was a hardcore rocker metal head back then😂. BTS finding me & becoming ARMY was one of my better decisions in life. It's almost like a spiritual journey, really. I just love everything they stand for. You're killing it, guys...carry on! P.S. I love Outro: Tear. It isn't really that aggressive, but it really tugs at your heartstrings, so IMO it's best to get the backstory before listening.

RM is amazing, hope you keep reacting to his music He started rapping in 2007 at age 13 under the name of Runch Randa, he quickly gained fame in the underground scene but In 2010 he joined BigHit music, this company wanted to make a hip hop group with RM at it's center and that idea later morphed into an idol group (kpop) as the years went on. He has two mixtapes: The first one is *RM* (2015) this mixtape is about the kid who left the underground hip hop scene (Runch randa) and joined a kpop group (RM) It's about his identity crisis (kpop idol vs rapper) the project portraits lot of confusion but realization at the same time. The second one is *mono* (2018) this playlist as RM call it, has loneliness as the main theme and it let us know a little more about Kim Namjoon (RM's real name) as a person. If you want English songs: - RM ft. Wale *Change* - RM ft. Fall out Boy *Champion*

The guys in BTS are veeerrrrry careful to not name names on anything when they're pissed. Suga cryptically says things about his own diss tracks that "if you think it's about you...." They give statements to gloss over who things are aimed at, but if you know, know. I think they just don't want to drag the other members into any animosity they have with the haters and disrespecters.
