Open your mind and learn. When she says she wouldn't want to go to "heaven", it's a a figure of speech, not literal (and so what if it was, that's her choice). She is using that phrase to express how deep her love is for this person. That's poetry.

LOVE the way you’re appreciating every single element, instrument, chord and nuance in this song! The guitarist may be “eating up that guitar” but YOU ARE eating up all the beauty and brilliance that is Sade and her crew! Bravo👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Great commentary man. I’ve been listening to her since HS (90’s for me) and she’s STILL my “go to” artist when I want to set the mood right. Enjoy her! No Ordinary Love is also a fave. Thanks for the smile and keep up the good work.

you are hearing it out of context. She is suggesting that the man she is singing about is her sense of heaven. She didn't mean heaven in the literal sense. She meant having him as a sense of paradise for her. One of the things with reactors is that they destroy the song by nit picking the lyrics, by taking the meaning literally. Sade's band is one of the worlds bests. Don't criticise the band when you know you can't do better.

"If you were mine, I wouldn't want to go to heaven." I think she implying that she would even refuse heaven to be with him here on earth. make sense? Yes badass guitar I think makes Sade. He has been with Sade from the beginning.

Your taking things to literally it’s just a form of expression she saying if she had him she wouldn’t want to go because she feel the paradise is on earth that it …Sade is a Christian woman now as far as videos you should have just watch cherish the day video I wouldn’t say that this was her best performance here even watch the video of cherish the day or the old one when she was on tour.

As the previous person already stated “I wouldn’t want to go to heaven” only means being with her significant other is her form of paradise. It’s really not as deep as you’re trying to make it. As far as the color choice and the fog……seriously?? I think you’re really reading more into it than is necessary.

I agree, she meant “I wouldn’t want to go to heaven” figurately. But also, what's wrong if she doesn't want to go to "Heaven" (the place no one knows for sure exists)? These ultra-religious people. 🙄😃

I am very religious and can recognize poetry and metaphors, just like millions of other religious folks. Bro, when she says, : " If you were mine... I wouldn't want to go to heaven" she is using hyperbole. its an exaggerated expression often used in poetry that's not meant to be taken literally. It is meant to express intensity of sentiment. Its like saying, " If you wanted the moon I would pull it out of the sky and give it to you?" Love is about emotion. It's not about logic.
