The Scorpions are definitely one of the best, hard rock/metal bands from the 70s and 80s(and beyond)! This was a huge power ballad for them. Other songs I would recommend would be The Zoo, Big City Nights, Rock You Like a Hurricane. So many awesome songs by The Scorpions!

Ah yes...The Zoo!...great track. I recently re-discovered the song 'Animal Magnetism'.. forgot how awesome it is. It has a really badass and kinda sexy vibe to it. I think the boys might enjoy that one. 'Blackout' is pretty much a banger. Then you have the epic 'Sails Of Charon' which in my opinion isn't really for everyone. That's pretty much a Scorpions favorite for guitar players. Uli John Roth might have been the baddest player of the 70's. I still haven't been able to play the intro solo up to speed with zero sloppiness.

I saw them live on the Rock You Like A Hurricane tour. Definitely one of the greatest bands! Thank goodness for these videos. You can hardly find a radio station in my area that plays what I loved back then.

Scorpions are German band, and “only love can break down the wall someday” is a reference to a Berlin wall that devided East and West Germany.

Actually in this case "the wall" is a little more personal, "Your pride has built a wall so strong that I can't get through", the wall is around your heart

Yup, this song dropped in 1984, and they (and all of us) saw the wall fall in 89. This song is on the Love At First Sting album. A fantastic album. If i remember correctly there's not a bad song on it. Klaus' vocals pretty much unmatched for pure talent, with very few exceptions. The guy must be an alien, i swear. This band produced a lot of good music.

@@TheAgentAssassin Not really, some people want it to mean the Berlin Wall or some other deeper thing, usually to show how smart they are, but it wasn't about anything political or any other real physical wall, it was just a metaphorical one.

Listened to this song hundreds of times and it still gives me chills. Second guy from the left in the black tee felt the heck out of that song. I could see it hit him hard just like millions of us around the world. Scorpions performed this a few months ago live and they still rock it. One of the best rock ballads ever, if not the best.

@Aaaaaie I was at Wembley stadium for that concert. At the time I lived in a small town called Bexhill on sea on the southeast coast of England. Me and my friend went to London to see Guns N’ Roses and Skid Row. The basketball talk shit about the mayor of London that day. But they recorded a live version of living that guy that died.

Another white grandma fan club member here! This was one of the best metal power love song ballads of my youth. And while the wall in this song is just around his girl's heart, this German band did a song about the tearing down of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and includes footage in the video. History forgotten!

The song was written in the early 80's by the German band, the Scorpions as a tribute to USSR. But then when the Berlin wall was taken down in 1989 the song took on a new meaning.

Scorpions was the very first band I saw live at a large concert venue when they were the opening act for AC/DC & headliner Ted Nugent at the late Spectrum in Philadelphia, July 1980, row 2 center stage. I'll never forget that night...still have the ticket stub (somewhere)...😎

The Zoo is a banger. Live in Berlin or any live video of that song is a must see from the Scorpions! I wouldn't recommend too many live songs for a first-time hearing but that is one you want to hear and see their performance.

When I first bought this album and listened to this song I knew this was going to be one of the best love songs in mankind’s history. You don’t just “hear” this song, you feel it. I was 16 when this was released and I remember thinking, “Man I hope I never feel this way”. But as destiny was to have it…….. haha.

You guys are awesome....keep the friendship tight 🙏 Respect Scorpions…one of my Ultimate bands ever..Klaus the lead singer has 0ne of the most important vocals in the world…I have Been to the concert In Germany 🇩🇪 back in the 1990’s they even sound better Live…Wished I had a time travel machine to go back in in time…People Don’t realize how the 80’s shaped music History..it was the best period of time and I was lucky to live it. I am 51 now and happy to have experienced that. Enjoy it

Amazing live. Never liked a single studio album from them. I'm sorry you never got to see them to truly get that impact. The true arena rock band of that day and age. Maybe only Triumph is on their level when it comes to arenas. Another where the albums don't do the band justice. The Scorpions world wide live album will get you close. Far better than their studio stuff. Don't get me wrong. They are great albums, but once you see them live they're hard to listen to on an album. It's just like it, only different.

My 40 year old daughter counts the Scorps as the first band she ever heard live in concert. We say heard and not saw because I was 8 months pregnant with her at the time. Fell in love with the band after first hearing their album Animal Magnetism. Have seen them in concert multiple times, travelling to 3 different cities to see them.

Perhaps thee greatest love ballad out there!! This is a German rock band that actually formed in the mid 70's . Cartier Fam, you should do an entire full album reaction to Scorpions World Wide Live . IMO, the best concert album out there! This tune is on it. Another tune they did was Winds of Change, when the Berlin Wall came down . Great reaction ✌🏽

Wife here..,Scorpions were one of the original Glam Rock Metal bands..However.., they are so talented that most True Metal Heads Respect and even Like alot their music..This paticular song holds a very special place in my ❤..As my Husband and I use to dance to this on "Date Nights"..Thank You Gentlemen for allowing me to reminisce 👍Great Reaction 👍

You should follow this up with Dire Straits and their song, Sultans of Swing. MAKE SURE it’s the ALCHEMY LIVE performance. It HAS TO BE ALCHEMY LIVE. The guitar solo is incredible and the drumming is crazy!! You guys would LOVE this!! Trust me. Please do it. You won’t be sorry. Thank you!
