As a supporter of this wonderful woman I feel I need to say that although I love every single sohyang performance, I think this performance is far from her best, its still fantastic by anybody else's standards but its just missing a little bit of sohyang magic, which is not surprising considering that she was told by the doctor not to sing as she hadn't yet recovered from her latest bout of pneumonia,but sohyang being sohyang,didn't want to disappoint the audience,so she went ahead & did this performance,heaven only knows how the performance would've gone if she'd been in good health!!! Thank you for your reaction to this amazingly talent Lady! Better then 71/2 years of following her genius and I can never get enough! She went from a very good gifted singer 10 years ago to a musical genius ! Her vocal control ,arrangements and performances are all next level! She is humble, kind, moral and strives to make us feel better and bring is closer to Jesus! She sings any style music , Pop , Rock, Jazz/ Soul, Rap, and of course Gospel! She is Korean (now 42) a ccm/gospel singer, devout Christian, cancer survivor, university prof, cartoonist and fantasy novelist. She is not only one of the best female vocalists currently on the planet but a remarkable human being also. She is an independent artist who has turned down recording contracts from the big labels, including from Sony during 2020. She has no social media, and says her goal is to use her voice in order to bring comfort to people going through difficult times. She does all the arrangements of her performances together with her team. I urge you to continue the journey you started, as what you witnessed is just the tip of the iceberg. You mentioned that the first time you listened to You Raise Me Up was by Westlife, so I'm surprised you didn't recognize Shane Filan from Westlife who was a guest on the show. BTW, for me, Sohyang is Sohyang, and should not be compared with any other vocalist, as she is unique and a world class vocalist in her own right. She did not use much of her high register in this performance. I'm sure you appreciate her vowel modification, mastery of her mixed voice etc. "Everyone" is one masterpieces that many people recommend.

Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such POWER it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself (with the input of her musical assistants), teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks four languages. Korean, English, French and Vietnamese. Let me catch my breath. OK. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. I agree with you. I don’t see Mariah Carey here. I see more Celine Dion in her theatrics and then Whitney Houston in her stage presence and gospel background. It’s a wonderful thing.
