That is the real Sherrie in the video!! I was in USMC boot camp and the guy in the bunk above me kept telling us he knew Steve Perry and Sherrie was his sister. We all thought he was full of BS! Then he got a photo of himself, his family, his sister Sherrie and Steve Perry sitting at the table for dinner!! Love this video - Journey and Steve Perry were notorious for not liking the video process, that’s why most of their videos are live

The lady in the video is Sherrie, he wrote that song for her. She was his girlfriend at the time.

Ironically, Steve wrote this song for Sherrie (that really was his gf Sherrie in the video) because she was jealous of the woman in Journey's "Separate Ways " video.

According to Steve, he and another song writer friend were up very late one night. And Sherrie had, had enough. And told Steve that she was going to bed. As she walked away, he said to her........Oh Sherrie! Steve said that he then turn to his friend and said, there's a song in that!! And thus Oh Sherrie came to be!

Steve got soul. This song was from his solo album Street Talk, which was more RnB than the stuff he did with Journey. A couple other good songs from this album are “Foolish Heart,” and “She’s Mine.”

2 things if you really want to hear how powerful Steve voice is you need to check out Journeys Live Version of Mother Father in Houston! You will thank me for that! 2nd thing this song Oh Sherrie was about his real Girlfriend who played in the video and they broke up a little bit after the video came out I do believe

Steve Perry is my favorite, too. :) Michael Jackson is probably the best performer I've ever seen...idk. He had that special something as a performer, that's for sure. Steve Perry has authenticity and heart and power and talent and class all at the same time. Check out his new album, "Traces," the first one out in 25 years, btw. :) It's beautiful.

I was around and a teenager when this came out and it's my favorite song of his besides the early Journey stuff (he was the lead singer of that band for a while and of course killed it, broke our hearts when he left Journey and again when they got inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and he didn't preform with them) He stopped singing for a LONG time and released music (25 years in the making which I haven't heard) it's called Traces released in 2018. From an old lady (50) Enjoy!!

I saw Journey live in Chicago during their “Frontiers” tour; it was my first concert, and I remember Steve Perry’s voice to this day. That and the red piano were my introduction to concerts, and I’ve been lucky enough to see so many great performers over the years. But Journey was probably tops or near the top.

You really need to watch his video to his latest song "No Erasin'" from his 2018 "Traces" album. He was 69 yrs. old then, 72 now. He promises a new album sometime soon.

His vocal chords didn’t ever wear out. He got burnt out from overtouring. Journey had the most punishing tours when he was in the band. He’s still putting music out.

Mannn..what I would have given to be the woman in this video! Sorry, he's just the perfect man to me. His voice is just so on point for love songs... oh hell for any song. Any time you want to go back, please do. There's no way I am the only person that feels that way. Steve's vocals are so good I could (and do) listen to him all day and then some! Please do more, we'll be waiting...
