One of my favorite guitar players of all time! Definitely the G.O.A.T. Listen to "Pride and Joy". You'll love it! I was shocked when I heard his helicopter crashed which, of course, took Stevie's life. Such a shame.

This performance is from 1983 at El Mocambo...one of his finest shows. Imo it has his best performance of Texas Flood 🔥

Thanks, Ace.. even when SRV covers Jimi Hendrix (as here), I tend to feel more for Stevie's versions...he seems almost in a trance.. the music just goes "through him"... appreciate your reactions.. (Okay, there are "wah-wah" pedals, but also there is a "whammy bar" on the guitar...lol)

On this day August 27,1990 we lost him on a helicopter crash at the age of 37 he was 38 days away from his 38th birthday.

He was born in 1954. Age at death was 35, not 37.
