The problem I see when people react to this song is that they are so overwhelmed by the amazing energetic performance that they completely miss how dark and dystopian the lyrics are.

Talking Heads is one of my favorite bands. Not only are they terrific musicians but amazing performers. They made a full length motion picture of their concert. It's title is: "Stop Making Sense". I think you would enjoy it. Thank you for reacting to this song.

What a great pick! T Heads are a category unto themselves. First album in 1976. This song was from their groundbreaking 1978 album, Life During Wartime. This performance is part of a live show and concert movie they did in early 80's, at the height of their popularity. it was amazing and I saw it several times in art-house theaters with everybody dancing in the aisles. and the volume turned up really really loud. They are one of my favorite all-time bands. you could pretty much pick any song from this stop making sense show, and you would probably find it fascinating. These songs meant a lot to the fans because they were already familiar with all of these songs but they had never seen them done live with this extended band composed of some incredibly talented performers. David Byrne, frontman in the white suit, has got to be one of the most creative personalities ever. he has been involved in so many different projects, it's mind-boggling.

Naked is kind of an odd first choice. I would say that's actually their worst studio album. A lot of people rip on True Stories, but it is consistently fun and catchy, something that can't be said of Naked. They tried to go less pop on Naked and return to their adventurous earlier albums, but their songs were weaker.

@@Faltor895 De gustibus non est disputandum. Raised on Prog, classical and jazz, I found most of the band's music to be basically pop music by comparison, but it was a lot of good fun. True Stories was a fun couple of hours. I sorta remember two songs from it. There was no "Cool Water", however, or "Democratic Circus", or "Mr. Jones", or "Blind". Dave is a nice fellow. I support him.

Great reaction video! As others have said, this is a clip from the full length concert film “Stop Making Sense”. It is currently being shown again in many theaters in the U.S. Sept.-Nov. 2023) Treat yourself to a concert experience by seeing this film on the big screen!

Great reaction, Sarah! I love this performance, and actually saw Stop Making Sense when it first came to the theatres way back in the day! From the same soundtrack/concert I would highly recommend "Psycho Killer"and "Take Me To The River" when you get the urge to dip your toes back into Talking Heads one fine day!!

you need to be in good shape to do Talking Heads. If one should get brave they should try Dave Byrnes and Brian Eno REGIMENT (Tribal Fusion Dance). It a real workout!!!

I have no use for 80s New Wave music, very little use for this band (although Psycho Killer is a good song), and no use for dancing or choreographed acts. But I love everything about this video.
