A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZfaq. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZfaq I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZfaq won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This KZfaq channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

I'm not sure if the Beach Boys created the surfing music or the surfing "era" created them but it is certain that The Beach Boys brought the popular music of that era, late 60s to mid-70s, to a new and higher level and they opened the industry to synthesized sounds and music. You may have noticed they were all great vocalists who harmonized magnificently. Their contributions to the industry are difficult to fully account.

"God Only Knows" is another excellent follow-up. And now you have context for a '90s tangent: "Brian Wilson" by Barenaked Ladies, which is about the Beach Boys' front man's tangle with bad depression. (Wilson was a very good sport about this and covered the song himself.)

The Beach Boys are "surf rock". Not every song of theirs is centered around surfing or even the beach, but it's more centered around the cruising lifestyle of Southern California in the '60s. A lot of romance, a lot of partying, and a lot of cars. Check out Sloop John B, Help Me Rhonda, California Girls, I Get Around, Surfin' USA, Kokomo, Barbara Ann, Wouldn't It Be Nice, and God Only Knows (really bittersweet for me and I'm probably not the only one) to really get started on them. This is one of those bands where you have to dive pretty deep into their albums to find a bad song.

Sloop John B. I was in Elementary school late 60's-70's. The school's Music Teacher was also the organist for the local church, and thought of herself as an opera singer. EVERY music class for 8 years we had to listen to her SCREACH opera!! However, I remember one year, 5th grade, 6th grade?) the songbook had Sloop John B in it. We students requested that song every music class!

honestly, i’m a huge beach boys fanatic and their early stuff is surf rock, and because of that their later stuff doesn’t get as much attention. i consider them as a genuine rock band. pet sounds, sunflower, surfs up, 20/20, wild honey are all perfect examples of them expanding their musical abilities and songwriting without including any surf rock at all. you should check those albums out, they’re really good. same with the smile sessions, though that albums never came out because of the many different problems brian wilson was facing at the time.

Brian Wilson is one of the brothers and founders of the group and is considered a musical genius. There album Pet Sounds is considered one of the best albums of all times. I was listening to a radio program where the Beatles were listening to Pet Sounds and it inspired them with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. I recommend the movie Love and Mercy, which is about Brian Wilson.

I'm 68. I think I was about 16 the first time I heard it...."In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love." Tennyson got it right. I always have thought this was a particularly beautiful and haunting love song. And, you're not the only person to think the Beach Boys personify the beach, especially in California!

I loved watching your reaction to the Beach Boys music I have to say. As if you just discovered something new. The Beach Boys songs are masterfully produced by Brian Wilson who was a magical genius and had a falcetto voice, a beautiful voice to go with it. His brother, Carl had a beautiful, sweet and strong voice and their brother Dennis was full of life and fun to watch because he exuded so much energy into his playing of the drums. God certainly blessed these brothers. When I listen to their music it always made me happy, gave me chills, made me cry. made me happy again. So many emotions run through their music. Beach Boys is like no other band alive then and now. Beach Boys is California, not just the beach. The sounds of California and sunshine. It's 2022, New Year and wish the constant repeat of Covid news would stop because like a bad flu it will not be eraticated, stop the mandates and let's get back to life.

The Beach Boys started out as a Surf band that had great harmonies. Most Surf music was guitar-based instrumentals, but The Beach Boys added lyrics that reflected the Southern California youth lifestyle: Sun, Surf, Cars, Girls, Parties, Fun. The band consisted of three brothers, their cousin and a childhood friend, so they'd literally been singing together all their lives. Brian Wilson, the group's leader, was more ambitious. He wanted to make more mature music; he wasn't a teenager anymore, so the simple fun was giving way to more adult concerns. "Good Vibrations" was his insane masterpiece. This song took close to eight months to record, at a time when most bands would record an entire album in a week or two.

This song threw down the gauntlet to all of the other groups releasing music in the late 60's to push their game to the next level. The particular things in this song that are "Beach Boys Trademarks" are the so-called "Wall of Sound" recording technique and the intricate harmonies.

The Beach Boys were the backdrop of our lives in the '60s until the invasion of the Beatles. Their harmonies were astounding, and they began their own genre: surfer rock. Very talented, all of them. They consisted of two brothers, their cousin, and a friend. Others tried to imitate them but they were a true American original.

Brian Wilson is still a genius. A year ago tonight I heard his band on the Cayamo music cruise, and then later that week again on the ship. In between, I was fortunate to talk to him and many in his enormous band, which was sometimes 13 people. As good as it gets. His songs, production, and arrangements all reach for the heavens.
