Dolores O'Riordan wrote Zombie in memory of Johnathan Ball age 3 and Tim Parry age 12, who were killed on the way to buy Mother's Day cards for their mothers, and of the 54 others who were injured in the 1993 IRA bombings in Warrington, England. I believe she was costumed in such a way and sang with such a wailing voice to represent the sound of their two families bain sidhe's (banshees) wailing in grief for their dead children... Bear in mind that she is singing in memory of the children of the "other side" (British) whilst proclaiming to the IRA that her family was not a part of the IRA's terrorism or in agreement with it "but you see it's not me. It's not my family in your head." This song is a rejection of violence and murder for the solving of political problems. WHAT'S IN YOUR HEAD???😭 When Tim’s parents Colin and Wendy Parry visited Ireland soon after the bombing as part of a BBC's Panorama program, the Irish people took to the streets of Dublin to follow them, hug them and tell them "what happened to your son Tim and the young boy Jonathan was not in my name!"

@@itsmira-j The IRA called for a cease fire/end of violence because they didn't want Dolores writing any more songs like this about them. Yes, this was indeed tragic, but this is also the power of music, too. This song ended what would have been many more years of bloodshed.

The gold painted people is the alternative reality, kabbalistic correspondences showing where the killing is sourced from. those that plan wars as a sacrifice and the mindless zombies serving them. In Kabbalah: Gold corresponds to the sacrficial sphere, Red background to Mars-the god of war, 3 children looking in the 3 directions (not 2 that were killed) because that corresponds to the infernal Goddess Hecate(Satan) they are sacrifices to. This video has layers of meaning, what a masterpiece, no wonder she had a 'accident' at age 46.

Thanks for your reaction. The conflict wasn't necessarily a civil war. It was in the sense that the Unionists wanted to remain in the United Kingdom and the Nationalists wanted to secede and be independent. What made it different than a typical civil war is that the British military fought on the side of the unionists. Unfortunately, nothing has really been solved despite all of the casualties.

@@juan2020 yes that was a factor. The British were trying to bring the Church of England to Northern Ireland. The majority of people there wanted Catholicism to be the official denomination. Interestingly, the Church of England was formed because the pope refused to grant annulment to king Henry to dissolve his marriage to Catherine.

Beautiful reaction; you are right, the english are vampires and always have been. The lead singer just died of overdose in January 2022; such a beautiful voice and tragic loss.

I agree with your opinion of the English...not just vampires but thieves. All the historical treasures of the world that have been found no matter what territory their located in seem to be residing in British museums. 2 boys were killed. Verse 1 is about boy 1 who was killed instantly. Verse 2 is about boy 2 who was on life support and his mother making the decision to pull the plug.

Like zombies who do think for themselves, humans who turn their eyes aways from wars are like zombies. As long as the war and violence does not affect a person, a war that is far away, people tend are not moved by normal human compassion. They behave as zombies

This is a very deep & powerful song. I know Dolores O'Riordan gave her blessing to Bad Wolves for their remake before she passed away but that song is still vastly inferior to the original & the sheer passion Dolores brought. Coincidentally, the day I'm posting this comment is on the 5th anniversary of Dolores' death & the KZfaq algorithm had a bunch of Zombie reaction videos on my homepage

Zombie refers to the mindset of the British who occupy and the Irish folk who put up with the killings . This song I believe was prompted by the killing of two innocent children in Belfast in the 90's.

With the bombing of the people of Omagh (that was financed by the Irish Community in the USA) the funding for the IRA dried up! This led to peace talks and a uneasy truce was finally achieved! It has been relatively peaceful since then! As for sounding familiar… Biden supporter burnt down cities for over a year, took over sections of the cities to lawless thugs and killed around 30 people in the mostly peacefully riots 0f 2021! A Trump supporter, a unarmed mother, was shot dead in the Capitol Building by police, while others were let in the building by other police! Which is having an inquiry? Biden supporters hated and lied about Trump for five years! But the economy was booming and the world was stable! Trump supporters only feel pity, that a man with Dementia, was forced into office by a ill informed American voter! If educated and not full of hate, would have seen what this man would bring to the Western world that is now teetering on the brink of disaster! There is no hate for the man, just righteous indignation and wily humour from people that told you so! Watching as wars spring up all around the world, inflation bringing hunger to the poor and fuel bills that will cause people to freeze this winter! All predicted, but ignored by people that wouldn’t listen! This was all man made and that man was Biden! Helped by his Voters, the Media, Sport Star, Hollywood, The Arts, most Politicians from around the world, High Tech Moguls, the Super Rich, Social Media… etc! Blame them for this crisis… and yourself! Not Trump!

Thats where the line "It's the same old theme since 1916" comes from. The continuum of hostilities had led to mental entrenchment that had in turn (in the song) led to successive generations of "zombies" who behaved according to type, without considering their actions The Omagh bomb wasn't planted by the IRA, it was done by an extremist splinter group that was opposed to the peace process. There is nothing to indicate that it was funded by American money. The material used to make the bomb was homemade and the car that carried t was stolen in Donegal, so there would have been little cost. You can therefore stop sniping at Americans. The peace process was well under way when the Omagh bombing occurred and willst the Warrinton bombing had a bearing on the process the Omagh bombing did not, since it was designed to derail the process. The peace process led to a lot more than a truce and the situation remains complex and abnormal but largely peaceful to date. I'll let you know if that changes, since I live not very far from Omagh. PS you completely missed the point of my original reply and you really need to take a look at your didactic impulses .
