@@marinamartinez6886 I used to live in London and would walk around with this song on my iPod. You wouldn't believe how well it worked - sometimes on a tired morning I mistakenly thought some of the sounds were genuinely coming from around me (the car noises, the footsteps, even those little saxophone blasts sound like the noise of buskers).

Pet Shop Boys are brilliant. This was their first single in The States and it blew everyone away. They are still together and putting out music, their newest album came out last month. Other songs to check out: What Have I Done to Deserve This, It's a Sin, Love Comes Quickly (extended version), Love Etc., Opportunities, Domino Dancing, It's Alright (extended mix), Was That What It Was, Paninaro.... One of the best debut albums of all time. Yeah, I said it! Opportunities, Suburbia, Love Comes Quickly. They came out the gate running. Try to imagine how different and ground-breaking this was in 1985, especially in the US! I think it was released a year earlier in the UK, but that was often the case with new music back then. A lot of the sounds you hear, including that "aaahhhh" vocal sound, was done by using a Emulator II, a sampling instrument which was fairly new at the time. Thanks for listening and sharing! Peace from SF

Before everywhere was covered by cctv cameras, every weekend there was mayhem in every large city in the UK, where kicking in chairs and knocking down tables was part of the evening's entertainment for those out at night, with fights in many clubs and outside pubs. Some up market west end girls liked a 'bit of rough' and were attracted to the edgy aggressiveness of the stereotypical east end male - that was the scene in London where the east and west sides used to be very different years ago.
