U2 have been the biggest rock band in the world for the last 36 years. More tickets sold than any artist ever, highest grossing tour of all time, 175 million albums sold, most Grammy’s of any other band and longest running group with the same lineup. Live is how you need to react to U2. Try Bullet the Blue Sky from Sydney 93 or October and Bullet the Blue Sky from Paris 2015. Cheers!

I recommend live versions when possible. They are great in studio but 1000x better live. All I Want Is You/Where The Streets Have No Name live at Slane Castle I hope is next. A few fun facts about U2. One of only handful of bands to have a number one album in four different decades. Most Grammy awards all-time (22). They have sold the most concert tickets sold in the last 40 years (26 million) and second to only the Rolling Stones for highest grossing live tours.

The technique on the bass guitar is called "slap bass", I heard this bass riff in 83'and I was never the same again!

U2 is amazing. Best rock band ever and longest running in history. Their songs all have an amazing depth to them that goes beyond the amazing sound. You should definitely try some live ones though. They are just as amazing, if not more so, live. With or Without you live from Boston 2001 shows one of the best interactions between a rock singer and his fans ever on stage. One Tree Hill from a live show that was a Rattle and Hum outtake is the best live performance of that song. Bad from Live aid 1985 was the performance that shot their already blooming career into international fame and definitely one to see!! it was televised to 40% of the world's population and the band nearly broke up after it. they were supposed to have played three songs, two familiar and one new. They didn't get to play the third song because near the end of singing Bad, the lead singer Bono noticed a few ladies being crushed against the lower barrier because of the crowd. he was trying to direct the security to pull them out before they got hurt. Security pulled two but missed the third and after a lot of desperate gesturing to her, Bono jumped the upper barrier and went down to lead them directly to her. You can see him giving her a cuddle to comfort her after they pulled her out before getting back up on stage. by the time he was back on stage, it was too late to play the third song so they adlibbed an end to Bad to draw it out. The band couldn't see what was happening and thought he was just being erratic and they were all angry. They thought it was disastrous but it turned out exactly the opposite. The whole world heard the amazing song, saw their incredible talent and also how much they cared about their fans. It was a defining moment in their career.

I’ve been telling every reactor that has gotten their introduction to U2 this New Year’s Day to please check out the live performance of Bad at Live Aid. You won’t regret it. I believe the person you saw doing the hitting was the bassist. Slapping/hitting is indeed a technique used a lot by bassists, but if you have yet to react to Eddie Van Halen, Eruption solo (live without a net version ) you probably should. Lots of different techniques being used in that video and yes, it all makes sounds! U2 were one of the biggest bands in the world for many years. They are a huge rabbit hole and you can’t got wrong with them. I prefer their older stuff.

Regarding those white flags they each carried on their horses, they must have watched some films by Akira Kurosawa.

It's cute how you guys keep worrying about the band being too cold in the video. Did you know that there are people who take ice baths in the winter just for fun?
