ANY song that Vince Gill and Patty Loveless sing together is AWESOME, I have not heard a song that they have done that was not GREAT. Patty was born here in my neck of the woods in Pikeville, KY, and singing is in her DNA, her cousin is Loretta Lynn, so it kind of runs in the family.

Yes it was Patty Loveless who is super nice and sounds good on her own. Vince Gill can do anything musically and us a great guitarist. He owns many guitars that fill the whole room. Vince is also married to Amy Grant which is a great singer/artist herself. Great reaction and love seeing you guys more now that I am getting well. Talk to you soon on discord hopefully. I've seen Vince Gill this last Christmas, and he is legit. Even today, his voice is as rich and incredible , as it's always been. He can carry a note like very few talents.

Patty Loveless, sings the backup. Probably one of the most underrated female country artists. She has done a lot of backup singing and duets with other Country Music artist, as well as having her own solo career and many excellent songs. "Go Rest High on That Mountain" is another amazing Vince Gill song. Patty sand with him at George Jones funeral celebration. Vince broke down but Patty being the amazing person that she is, held it together and took over parts of the song until Vince could pull himself together and finish. She is total Class in my opinion.

I've been fortunate to see Vince in concert a few times over the years. First time in the early 90's. If you get the chance, listen to his heartwarming song about his children. It's called, "I Gave You Everything I Had" It's beautiful ♥

This song sounds like drinking your sorrows away music. Very slow, mellow and yet obviously a country song, without any doubt 🧐 The Kendalls have some great stuff. There's cool trucker songs called Teddy Bear and Roses For Mama. You really must hear them.

Vince sang background on Patty’s first hit and she sang background on this. Their voices are so perfect together. Her first hit was “Timber, I’m Falling In Love,” if you want to hear that one. Also check out a great duet Vince did with Reba, who absolutely gets the recognition she deserves, “The Heart Won’t Lie.”

I agree with Asia mostly in that male singers are promoted more by record execs & radio. Dozens of same sounding guys making it but women need to be phenomenal & beautiful to get heard. Not 100% but mostly. Ask your friends favorite rock band, singer/songwriter, hip hop artist, etc. (Heart, Joni Mitchell, Mary J Blige)

Yes, that is Patty Loveless in the background. They back one another up a lot on their tunes, because their voices blend so beautifully. She is a star in her own right. Vince has the voice of an angel & many great hits. The song he wrote for the brother he lost, 'Go rest high on that mountain' is stunning too & I have heard it played at a zillion funerals. And, if I am not mistaken, Patty sings on the official version too. Patty has 'Blame it on your heart' or "I try to think about Elvis' for a fun tune & 'Lonely too long' for a sexy song & 'You don't even know who I am' is great too. Then 'How can I help you say goodbye' is probably her biggest hit.

You may have been hearing a steel guitar that is played horizontally, from a rest from a standing or sitting position, or it could have been a lap steel guitar played laying across the lap from a sitting position. Just a wonderful instrument that is used often in country music to emote sadness. I agree Asia, when Patti came in on the chorus it really set the song off.... definitely gave it an added dimension, gets the goose bumps going. Great reaction guys, TY.

The high lonesome tenor. He started in a band from the 70’s Pure Prairie League there big hit was Aimee. He started touring with the Eagles after Glen Frey passed away in 2016.

Pattey loveless had some good songs on her own, I actually met her at a state fair before she really came on the scene I was probably 12 but my favorite song of hers and her one of my favorites period was don’t toss us away such a good song you should check it out

Patty Loveless was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Vince was inducted several years ago. He is now a member of the Eagles.

The harmonies are 3 parts. I believe the low harmony is Vince. Notice on the word tears in the chorus the low harmony drops a full step. God I love when they do that. 😊
