The drummer here, Kai Hahto, is the current drummer of Nightwish standing in for Jukka. The dudes a machine. Jari, the singer, is a compositional genius. There's a few more videos from this rehearsal that kick ass too :)

@@fdsannie I didn't know that either, it's a damn shame but I do sincerely hope Jukka is doing better. I'll miss him during concerts, he brought such energy to the stage. Thankfully we have Floor for that now. Kai is a kick-ass drummer though, he's more than capable of taking over for Jukka. So I'm glad it's all working out for all parties involved.

Yeah they blew my mind too when I first heard this. Check out Time or Loneliness. In this video the drummer is Kai who is the current drummer for Nightwish.

I don't want to be that guy, but.. I told you so! :D There are two more songs, that I'm aware of, from that same rehearsal. "Time" and " Land of Snow and Sorrow". Give them a shot! ;)

Go for "Land of Snow and Sorrow" and "Time" from the same live rehearsal session. Those two are from the same album as Sons of Winter and Stars and arguably even better.

To fully appreciate this song you need to listen to the whole album from start to finish because this album is basically one long song broken up into 5 sections. All their material is incredible.

Like Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish, Jari Mäenpää of Wintersun is a composer genius. He's also a multi-instrumentalist and played all the instruments, arranged & produced their latest album "The Forest Seasons" that was released in 2017. Jari only has one fully functioning lung, but he's still an amazing vocalist.

Ok, so you've been blown away by two of what I call the top 3 must see live videos. This and Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. One more to go....Ne Obliviscaris - 'And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope' ...live in Colorado. They're from my country of Australia, two vocalists (clean / harsh) and violin (played by the clean vocalist). It's epic just like the other two.

FINALLY!!! Knew you'd like it! As others have said, "that poor drummer" is Kai from Nightwish. My favourite Wintersun song is currently 'The Forest That Weeps', but I reckon you should try 'Time' from the same Sonic Pump Studios live rehearsals. I think you'd also like Opeth - 'Deliverance (Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London'

As some others suggested. Just do the ot her two Studio rehearsal songs, Land of Snow and Sorrow and Time (Jari, the composer and frontman himself said he likes that version more than the original album one). Then move either to the first album, Wintersun, or the latest, The Forest Seasons (and just react to all of them IN ORDER, or at least, the last 2)

Jari, the vocalist, doesn’t even have, like, %25 of his lungs. The dude is a fucking beast both on vocals and guitars. Or anything else really. He does most of the composing of each instrument and writes the lyrics. Fucking amazing. No doubt one of my favourite bands ever...

I second the sugestion of Valhalla by Blind Guardian. Next, Time by Wintersun (also at sonic pump studios). Then Heart of Steel by Manowar (Manowar Best Crowd Ever is the best version). Finish the trio of the power metal pioneers with Eagle Fly Free by Heloween. Add Black Ninja by Battle Beast because you love your frontwomen and you'll love Noora too.

How come - that is the title of the album featuring this master piece and also a damn used joke amongst Wintersun fans coz they have tend to have quite a long time between their albums 😂 Other great songs by them: Awaken from the Dark Slumber (official lyric video) Eternal Darkness (official lyric video)

The killer riff was very effective! Natural choices for next reactions for Wintersun are: Time (Live rehearsal) REMASTERED, Loneliness (Winter) and Eternal Darkness (Autumn). There's plenty of other fantastic songs but those three are the best of the best

Not gonna lie I low-key clicked on this one to see if he passed out on the floor or not Also Jari the singer is missing part of a lung due to tuberculosis during military service, I can't scream / sing like that and my lungs are just fine Edit: HA 11:37 HE DID PASS OUT ON THE FLOOR MY CLICK WAS NOT IN VAIN
