They’re not really K-pop they’re a global girl group based out of Korea but most of the members are Japanese or at least half. For example Harvey is half Australian and Hinata is half Korean.

They trained about 4 yrs in japan and 1 yr in korea. Their target is international audiences. They're a global group, they call themselves Xpop They are real all rounder group. Full of talent, mind blown. Their main concept is hip hop and rnb. But they will also express themselves in other genres too. I hope they also show their artistry a lot more in the future.

You hit it on the head. They came to take the game. With their sound I think the can. I love that they through sub shots in their songs. I don't listen to a lot of k or j pop but the stuff I've heard doesn't sound like XG to me. Maybe their look and the way they do things might fit into that but their sound is really western. I think that is getting them eyeballs and ears that other groups haven't been able to get. Definitely check out more. Here's some to start with. HEY HEY cuties, so basically how GENERATIONS work in kpop (and no XG is not kpop group but a global group however since they promote in Korea this also applies to them) "K-pop generations are defined by the time periods when certain groups debuted and their impact on the industry" So for example, as of now there are 4 generations. I'd like to say there is also also a debate on whether the time differences matters too. For example, some of us calculated a pattern of a 5-6 or sometimes 7 year difference between each group’s new era generation if that makes sense? Then there’s also debates about it being dependent on the SOUND of a group. For example, NEW JEANS, a girl group that debuted last year, technically is a 4th gen KPOP group. However, because ppl find that they have such a unique sound to KPOP, ppl feel as though they are creating the new 5th generation of KPOP due to their sound. Not to mention, it’s been 6 years since 2017 of course so one more year and then we would already be expecting 5th Gen KPOP to officially be born. I hope you can kind of see how it all works now and really it’s not something you have to like think about all the time however from past groups just know based on their debut as well u can differentiate gens that way. I’ll give examples of 3rd gen and 4th groups who u may or may not know. I can’t do the first two gens as I am more of a 3rd-4th gen stan. 1st gen-Mid-1990s to early 2000s. 2nd gen-Mid-2000's to late 2000's. 3rd gen-2011 to 2016. (For example, BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, EXO, GOT7, IKON, NCT, and MORE). 4th gen-2017 onwards ( For example, Stray Kids, TXT, ENHYPEN, ITZY, GIDLE, EVERGLOW, and MORE). So then XG could be placed in 4TH GEN bc they also debuted after 2017 which they debuted in 2022 I hope this helps and as usual I love your questions, keep ‘em coming 🧡
