the judge meant that he was not formally trained as a countertenor, however he is classically trained as a tenor at the Lviv Conservatory in Ukraine.

Thank you Josh for the video reaction.. in the audition.. the song was short because of limited time.. when fans asked him to sing the full version.. he did it live.. use his mobile phone and did the recording...perhaps you could compare it ...

Charlie is great. He said that he was bullied as a young teen because of his voice but he got the last laugh cause look where it has taken him. BTW, the performers on this program were all various professional singers, most musical actors. Also, one of the judges is Henry Lau, another that you should listen to at least once as he is multi talented.

Zhen shen graduated in tenor from Lviv Conservatory. He said he wasn't trained for countertenor.

That was three years ago .His very first appearance on stage was in 2014 when he was 21 in a programme called " Voice of China" season 3 with the song "Huan Yan" while still studying Bel Canto at Ukraine (for Season 1 & 2 the producer invited him after heard him on an online platform but Zhou Shen thought it was a scram ) Don't forget that Zhou Shen was bullied when younger because of his voice so he doesn't show his image on screen while singing online,,he gathered alot of fans and awards so when they requested him to show his face some was put off because they thought that HE was a SHE. (even now especially at the beginning of his singing career in front of stage he was troled etc because he didn't have the appearance nor voice that they deemed as " mainstream". It is such a shame that you couldn't understand chinese where you could understand more of Zhou Shen through his interviews also his songs are both inspirational and healing. Recently he finished a programme called " Treasured Voice 3" where he sang 10 duets with 1 solo in total. If you could react to all would be great especially ep.2 ( funny lots of technique) 3 (inspirational emotional) 6 (sang last sentence iin ONE breath) 7 ( fusion with classic) 9(comeback to ep 3 due to rearrangment of song. Zhou Shen said that as a performer he can't do anything while being abused online but he read some victim committed suicide due to online trolling and said that he felt he had to do something and at the last note said he didn't use any technique just genuine voice feeling) ep12 ( the male performer playing the chinese instrument has autism, they wishes everyone a Path of Blooming Flowers)

The Super Vocal Boys is another stunning show for opera and musical singers. Every week six "principals" were voted (the best) and each had to choose a song and decide to sing solo or pick partners for a duo, trio or more from the remaining 30 singers, and then figure out the harmonies and arrangement to suit their voices. There was not one average singer in the whole lot. That Zhou Shen wasn't even amongst the 6 winners might give you a clue about the quality. Zhou Shen was definitely one of my favorites, next to Ayunga, Zheng Yunlong (two of the winners) and Wang Xi (who might have been if he didn't have catched a cold right before the finals) ... But to choose was pretty damn hard.

Zhou Shen is my favorite singer - many have said that he helped them overcome depression listening to his music, and talking to him on his channel he does from home.

“Memory" and “Time to Say Goodbye" performed by Zhou Shen in this show are his early live stages. This Show is called , which is different from other talent shows. All contestants study classical or opera music from different muscial schools around the world. That is why Zhou Shen was there, he really wanted to learn some really staff. Not only does he continue to improve his singing skills, but he also continues to challenge himself, such as different genres, different languages, or combining different elements.

This was 2018, he is now the most demanded and most popular vocalist in China. 48 single was released last year. The 3 panel producers/singers at this time is no way could compete against him. I'm his devoted fan for a year, he is the only vocalist that I am insanely in love with.

He didn’t get to be top chair only because he quit singing a fraction of a second before the music quit. But it all worked out in the end he is a top singer in China. Thank you.

He did have training in Classical music in Ukraine for 3 years and graduated but not in that high register. Because his natural voice is high, that's why he train himself in that high register by himself at home that's what Zhou Shen meant to said.

He did not at the time when he joined this competition. He was still a student of dentistry. It was after this competition that he decided to switch to classical music!!!! You need to listen to his conversation with the judges after this song - he said so himself !

He did have classical singing training but not countertenor type. Actually, it is more his natural range rather as defined. He does have very good skills for controlling his voices.

Zhou Shen is indeed one of the most talented singers I've ever come across. He's very much gifted with that voice despite he isn't the most good looking among all the contestants and he's also much smaller size and shorter compared to other guys which has resulted him got teased and bullied in school as well, especially with his more feminine voice. He wanted to pursue in music career but I read somewhere that his parents advised him not to due to his appearance and they didn't think he was good enough to be an artist, so he ended up going for medicine or dentistry in Ukraine? (don't remember that) His most amazing performance was singing "Let It Go" by 9 languages and "Dalabengba" by 5 different characters!

Tell you what. The female judge criticized Zhou Shen for cutting out his voice a tad just before the music ends and therefore she didn't give him the full mark in this audition. Still they were bewildered that Zhou Shen sang it so well even though he didn't have professional training prior to the singing contest.

I love every one of Zhou Shen's performances on Super Vocals including, of course, this audition. Zhou Shen did not feel confident in his abilities knowing his competitors had more training and experience. He wanted to do well. He was often chosen to be a lead singer and produce a win for his team. He cried when he didn't get a win.
