I think I figured it out what's this unusual vibe I get here. Your videos don't look super touristy and kinda more like exploring and finding out (also growing as a person). They're fun. It feels kinda like watching a kid figuring out what is what in the world; but in this lovely grown up woman form. Traveling to another country just because someone finds some tv shows enjoyable is kinda wild to me. But hey, a part of me wants to track locations used in The Last Of Us (HBO) too; so I sorta get the feeling. Oh and I'll never understand how can women eat so much with such little body. Quite amazing really. Like where do they, you, keep all those food with that slim waist? I guess that's another girls' mystery.

The area you were staying in chiangmai is nimmanhaemin, which is the most expensive area in chaingmai but It is a good place to start if you don't know where to go in chiangmai because these area is tourist friendly. As the local that living here for my entire life. We would avoid eating lunch & dinner in these area. The local here would normally spend around 50 - 150 bath per meal (and it could be cheaper if you go to the local market to get some food). Anyway, Hope you enjoy Thailand and stay safe !! :D

Great video. To be honest, if you are in Nimman area, things are a little expensive as they cater for Tourist. There are cheap food in CNX, you just need to know where to find them. Living cost is generally still cheaper than BKK, especially housing.

I used to love going there in the winter but lately due to pollution , I rather stay in Bangkok. Once in while to enjoy the cold there during the winter I guess Chiangmai is quite a good place to visit especially when you need time off for a more quiet life. Hope you go to Chiang Mai again very soon. Especially in late rainy season to early cool season (October to a half of January). Cause of this period will be great time for touring/trekking to the mountain and forest.

I was in Chiang Mai end of December 2022 till 2nd week of January 2023. Weather was cool and no haze at all. Not a drop of rain so riding around Chiang Mai was awesome. Hope to make another trip to Chiang Mai in January 2024 and try the Mae Hong Son loop.

There are still more places to see though, but you probably need local friends, especially for good food thats far from Nimman Rd. and hiking activities during warmer climate. Really enjoy you videos and Excited to see more! 😊

I think generally speaking, CM’s living pace is slower and quieter; as for the stuff prices, I think mainly because you stayed in the city zones of CM, you didn’t go to the mountains right? Like I’ve seen quite some series filmed in the mountain areas(chains of heart, La pluie etc…..)all filmed in between the towns and streets along the mountain villages inside……it’s like street markets, stores along the streets of those villages/towns in the mountains and I guess from there, the prices at those locations might be cheaper than these from the city centre areas….🤔and those areas are definitely even way quieter and less crowded than the city areas I didn’t expect that you didn’t visit those mountains and forest areas/towns when you were in CM…..idk, do you plan to go for CM again? If yes, then you could visit those areas or filming locations next time like those national parks or resorts opening in the forests…… but ofc it’s totally up to you…..(are you planning to come back there tho? Since you mentioned life turning point…..😎🤗🤔)

Food costs less around Chiang Mai University. I usually go to Chiang Mai like five times a year even though I am 1,000 km away (Ubon Ratchathani). Also, give Doi Inthanon a try. It's the highest mountain peak in Thailand.

Go to food court at maya mall is cheaper or food market opposite CM university or local food if you go farther from town is more cheaper

Everywhere outside of Bangkok is great. Chiang Mai is fun but it's basically the Disney version of Thailand even down to prices, especially in the square. If you go to NorthEast like Khon Kaen, Phethabun, Khao Kho, there is SO MUCH more to see and very few foreign tourists, but lots of local tourists. Ubon Ratchathani is another really great place. Chiang Mai is kind of what I consider "gated community" tourism and for me, it's just not as interesting.

I'm in khon kaen now. The only problem if you're solo traveler and even if you're friends, it's really hard to communicate with the locals. In addition, Chiang Mai has really bad pollution. I've been there many times. Certain times. It's almost unbearable

You just don’t know how to travel off the beaten path when you are in the touristy town. Chiangmai is huge and has a lot to offer outside the square moat. 8 different ethnic people living in the mountains. Waterfalls, national parks, hiking routes, kayaking, trekking, cafe by the waterfall, fresh market. If you are going there as a tourist who don’t have lots of information, you will be trapped in the tourist areas with tourist price of course. I can still find a great Kao Soi close to Nimman road which cost 40 baht/bowl.

The tourist in 2018 was in massive amount it was like a Las Vegas at night bazar but when I visit last year again it was very empty and the tourist was in very low quantities

Interesting facts about Bkk population. The 10 million something number is only for the registered residents not counting the tourists employees from different provinces who came to work in Bkk unregistered immigrations. The real number maybe double or more than the official counts.

Chiang Mai is a province that receives many tourists each year, so they have the same language skills as Phuket, Krabi, Hat Yai, Samui. Being a tourist city, prices are expensive. I hope you have time to review the movie Man Suang.

Chiangmai is my favorite Thai city, but when I went there in Feb/March this year, pollution was so bad and unhealthy. I may have to look for other favorite place next time.

ive been to chiang mai, and bangkok, generally - ppl are more soft spoken in chiang mai , and more chill. But understandbly so. But still, always be aware of tourist trap.
