Rio de Janeiro is one of the most lively, fun, and beautiful cities we’ve ever been to. Love the video! I’m from Brasil myself- from Salvador-Bahia, and I’ve only been to Rio de Janeiro once and I need to come back with my American wifey so we can explore it together 😍 Loved watching you guys experience some beauties/goodies of my country! I couldn’t help not noticing that you compared brigadeiro to chocolate frosting- NOOO!!! Frosting are so disgusting to my taste buds hahaha Also, SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN??? Noooo hahaha it’s Pão de Açúcar! We don’t translate Big Apple (NY) grande maçã you gotta be truthful to it’s name hahaha love the video tho!! Go to Bahia as well… you gonna love it!

Honestly, this is the most underrated place in the world! I’ve traveled to many countries, and Brazil is in the top 3 for sure!

Brasil is my favorite country to visit. The best food, people, and places. -Figueira Rubaiyat restaurant in Sao Paulo -Rafting in Brotas -Tour indigenous tribes, rainforest hikes, and animals in Manaus -Beaches in Barra Grande, Jericoacoara or Fortaleza

Agreed! Brazil is absolutely AMAZING and we've only scratched the surface so far. Thank you for those recommendations! We'd especially love to visit Manaus on this trip if we have the time. :)

@@chrisandsara its true I live in Brazil and could not find time to do everithing I want traveling inside Brazil. About Rio, it also got great moutain cities with waterfalls, rivers and more of a countryside vibe. Look for teresopolis, penedo, maua, maringa and other gems!!!

And it's SO easy to make: Brigadeiro (Brigadier) - Melt a spoon of butter with a can of condensed milk and 4 spoons chocolate powder. After cold, pass some margarine in your hands (so it doesn't sticks) and make little balls and roll choco sprinkle it. Beijinho (Little kiss) - instead chocolate powder add shreded coconut Prestígio (Prestige) - Throw the shreded coconut while cooking the Brigadeiro (or the choco powder while cooking the Beijinho). It's like 10min cooking and we call it "pan brigadeiro" because we eat straight from the pan cuz we can't even bother rolling them lol

10:44 Its almost emotional to see a foreigner having this type of reaction eating our Brigadeiro for the very first time. Its extremely sweet but it brings childhood memories for every single Brazilian :) clap clap clap

@@chrisandsara It is super easy to make! 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 stick of butter, 4-6 TBSP nesquick. Stir constantly over medium heat until it thickens up and starts unsticking from the saucepan. And instead of spending time rolling it up in balls, just grab a spoonful at a time!

Graças ao KZfaq o mundo está vendo o Brasil como ele merece. O Brasil é lindo, extremamente maravilhoso, eu sou brasileiro com muito orgulho e sou grato a cada estrangeiro que vem aqui e mostra ao mundo o que realmente o Brasil é ( maravilhoso ). A imprensa brasileira só mostra as notícias ruins para o exterior, suja nossa imagem e a imagem de nosso país.

Tapioca is really healthy, comes from mandioca which is a vegetable, I like to eat this for breakfast. Is a indigenous Brazilian dish that comes from the northeast region of the country but is popular everywhere.

I’m still dreaming about the fruit and coconut water in Rio! When I was there we were able to get a tour that got us up to Christ the redeemer before any of the trains and our small group were the only ones up there. It was a REALLY early morning after a night of Caiprianhas, but was incredible to see the views when it’s empty.

I love it!! So glad you are enjoying Brasil. It’s been almost 20 years since I was in Brasil and watching this video took me right back. I could almost taste all the food you were trying. As far as it being hot, it is very common for Brasilians to take multiple showers in a day.

WOW!!!! So many different fruits and veggies, totally amazing. Sara... that brigaderios looks like "death by chocolate!" Such a great treat. Then the tranquility of the park and beach bench, a nice respite to take a break and just catch your breath. Can't wait to see the video from the mountains. Until next time... Travel Safe.

During the summer, from december until march, Rio is really really hot, but at other times of the year the temperature is more confortable.

Try a caju (cashew fruit) beverage. My favorite that is not really available in the US. I don't like the fleshy texture of the fruit eaten whole, but in a drink it is sublime.

E que vcs só levam a castanha, que fica encima do Caju. Enquanto nos, ficamos com as frutas e o suco. Kkkkk Tanto que é castanha de caju, que é o nome da fruta. Realmente a fruta em si, não é muito boa. Mas o suco e muito bom.

Brigadeiros are very easy to make. Only three ingredients: condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder. When you go out to buy them they are sold rolled in a ball like that, but when we make them at home we pour it onto a plate and eat it with a spoon.

Hope you are venturing out to other parts of Brazil. In particular other beaches. With so much coastline, I think there is a beach to meet everyone's preference it's been a couple decades since I spent a month there. But I think the beach is their key to staying fit. People from the US just lay out and sun bathed. But people from Brazil are so active on the beaches, no one is sitting down, much less laying down.

Zona Oeste (West Zone) of Rio is also really cool, Barra da Tijuca, São Conrado and Recreio are good spots with a lot of stuff to do

São Conrado é Zona Sul, mas entendo o que você diz. Também os subúrbios da Zona Oeste são relativamente legais de se visitar. O calçadão de Bangu, a Cachoeira do Barata, o Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca, a praia da Barra de Guaratiba...

Hey, tips for Rio, Pedra da Gávea hike, Barra da Tijuca beach, the lookout of Leblon, Stand Up paddle tour to Ilhas Tijucas, New York Citiy Center, Barra, Shopping and Village Mall, the first two are connected to each other and the third is nearby, and a combined tour of Praia do Secreto, Prainha and Grumari, as well as Pedra do Telégrafo rock and the hidden beaches Perigoso, Meio, Funda and Inferno, maybe it's worth to rent a car for a day to visit those beaches, as they are far away, but still inside city limits. Also, if you want to rent a car for a day you can cross the Rio - Niterói bridge and head to the oceanic region of Niterói and visit Itacoatiara, Camboinhas and Sossego beaches, it's also possible to stay there over night.

I loved to see Sara's expression when she had har first bite from brigadeiro. It looked like she was just creating new childhood memories just so she could had an emocional nostalgia from that taste. If that's the case, we salute you as one of us ❤ If you like pão de queijo and brigadeiro you are already half brazilian ❤

Hey Guys, you should visit the south of Brazil one day, it is a very beautiful place. Parana [Foz do Iguaçu, Curitiba], Santa Catarina [Joinville, Florianopolis]. It is another side of Brazil that is extremely beautiful.

When, even as a latin american, you don't know much about Brazil (maybe language is part of the problem), your foreign point of view is useful for us too. They're like brothers of a different mother (metropoli) glad you enjoy all latin american culture. Prepare for Argentina and Colombia.
