Will, the new tup looks great. Being involved with the judging meant you were able to network more so this a big step up for you and Cowley Hill. I would not be surprised if you have your eye on other potential additions in the future as a result of this experience. Thank you for sharing!

I've judged a few dog shows and it's a lot of fun. Its one time when you agree 100% with the judge 😉. You got a really nice tup, very stylish. Congratulations!

Wow! That is your biggest spend on a tup by some considerable margin. I believe it's the first time you have exceeded the £1000 and you tripled it! Though I am guessing he should pay for himself with the quality of his offspring. If he has 400 offspring (5 seasons at 80 each), no doubt the money will be recouped over time.

You’re spot on there with offspring. But actually the Irish Tup was £1,000 , Indiana Jones £1,500 and an older tup we purchased £2,500. But this guy is next level 👌

Whatever you do When judging Will, is keep your integrity. I have a cautionary tale I have related on another channel. A friend with a different breed, took pedigree ram lambs to Builth Wells with outstanding stock fellow farmers agreed were the best. The judge didn’t place them, but they got the highest price. The judge was told in no uncertain terms by the fellow farmers that it didn’t work out for him well when he was well outbid for them.

It’s all in the judges eye. He may like something a little different to others. But in real terms when judging by eye there is no best it’s just an opinion unless you have stats to back it up

@@CowleyHillFarm you have missed the point, the judge wanted the lamb himself and hoped to get it cheap but it didn’t pan out for him.
