Lei ha cantato non con la bocca...non con la mente o il cuore...lei ha cantato con l'anima...e tutti quelli che hanno potuto sentire e ascoltare questo pezzo preserveranno nel loro cuore un ricordo indelebile di un'esibizione magistrale. This song was written by his father in 2002. Pino (Giuseppe) Mango was a great Italian singer-songwriter, much loved for his magnificent voice which has been compared to a musical instrument. He died in 2014 while he was on stage and thirteen-year-old Angelina was present at the concert. This performance by Angelina who participated in Sanremo for the first time was a tribute full of love, she sang with her soul in her hands and all of Italy cried.

This video is from the 4th evening of Sanremo where all the singers choose a cover to bring. Angelina decided to bring this song of her father Pino Mango from 2002. Her father died in december 2014 while performig on the stage, Angelina was present at the concert where he died, she was only thirteen years old and witnessed the whole thing live. He suffered a massive heart attack and died on the way to the hospital. Mango was a genius of pop and electronic music. 'La rondine' is an iconic song from the early 2000s, full of electropop overtones. For us Italians it was a very emotional moment, Pino Mango was an icon, even if not recognised enough for me. Here the arrangement is different, slower and more intense, Angelina's brother, Filippo, did the arrangement. "La rondine" is about a distance and the feeling of leaving the nest and not being able to find that connection with anyone, it is impressive how now the meaning changes completely (or almost) being a daughter singing to her deceased father, everything makes it all the more emotional. It had such a special meaning for her and all Italy was touched by her performace. The meaning of the lyrics add to the beauty of the performance.

Pino Mango was an extraordinary singer, with a half falsetto voice, unique in the world. Before, it was enough to say Mango to define him. He was singing "oro" the song that brought him success 40 years ago. If he had been born in the USA or GB he would have become a world star.

If you think that this song was one of her father's songs, a very much loved Italian singer who passed away while perfiorming on stage, Angelina was there in the audiencee aged just 12 back then... the song says "where are you? In the wrong side of the sky'. The pain is real fot her, and it hits us all too

Thanks for your beautiful video. I grew up with the songs of Angelina's father the great Pino Mango. His death on stage during a concert in front of his thirteen-year-old daughter was a true tragedy. Now hearing Angelina sing her father's song in this beautiful way is shocking. All of Italy cried that evening. Love from Italy.
