Soyeon is definitely the GOAT of kpop. She can sing, rap, dance and even compose almost all of (G)I-DLE’s songs

There is no effect on Minnies Voice at the begging and end there..its just how smooth it is naturally... when u listen to more G-idle you will see what i mean.

This really is a masterpiece. And one of my favourite things about this group is how Soyeon (short black hair rapper, yeah) writes for most of their stuff, and Minnie (the one with the braids who starts and ends the song; and is the second one in the first and second chorus) also writes some; and yeah honestly Minnie's voice is literally just velvet. And they have such a great variety of unique voices. Yuqi (big wavy black hair in the pre-chorus) with her deep voice, and then Miyeon (lighter hair on the throne) with her higher register; it's just wild how they got these girls in one group. You did set the bar high, but not too high imo. This is one of my fav songs, plain musically and I also love the meaning; it's pretty clearly about queer love between women (and the persecution that comes with it, like you said about the mental asylum in the beginning) and the fact that Soyeon wrote it and said she wanted it to be "open" is just brave regardless. BUT they have some amazing other songs so I don't think you'll be disappointed. btw fyi the "creepy whispers" are only in the MV, they're not in the regular studio version of the song. I started typing this comment before the video was done so I hadn't seen you find out all the members names at the end but there you go :P

Soyeon(shorthair) & Minnie(crazyhair) combo is also my fav in the chorus esp Soyeon. Im obsess in how she sang it❤️🥰 and btw Minnie's voice is natural so they call it "dreamy" while soyeon "charismatic" funfact: Soyeon wrote,compose this masterpiece

they have THE rapper of 4th gen , two angelic MAIN VOCALS , a lead vocal w a beautiful husky voice , a strong visual , and HAD an amazing main dancer . they're my ult group since day 1 . edit: fell in love even more after finding out they compose and produce their songs (esp their leader & rapper , Soyeon)

If you want to see other "sides" to this story/song, check out the ENGLISH Version (part of Bside) since they became more bold in the lyrics. Check out the JAPANESE Version MV as well, yes they created another MV for the Japanese Ver.. They also have a Special Choreo which is just cute. The SOYEON (rapper) wrote, composed, and produced most of their songs, and she tailor fit the parts for her members. MINNIE ( girl with braids) naturally has velvety voice like you said. SOYEON said during one interview that they all liked her voice during their trainee days, however, her problem is the Korean language (MINNIE is Thai). So, SOYEON made parts for MINNIE that sounded like English so that she can sing it easier and smoother. You should hear MINNIE's natural voice from covers (GRAVITY, HAPPY LITTLE PILL, SCARED TO BE LONELY). SOME INFO: -All of the theories and representations that we came up with are all correct since there were no wrong answers. When Soyeon wrote this song, she said that she wanted it to be so vague that the listeners will think about the story and meaning. most common theories were forbidden/toxic love, lgbt love, and even biblical. Soyeon wanted the people to ask "What does she meant by that?" or "What was she thinking while writing this?". And she's so damn right. Up until now the girls haven't told the real meaning of the song. -About the "her, she, woman" in the story, Soyeon said that it does not directly represents a woman. She said that you can replace the "she" into any temptations that you can think of. She also added "Music should not be bound by gender since music is for everyone." (non-verbatim). -The theme of the album is "I-TRUST" and obvi this is the title track. The album have 2 concepts: TRUE Ver. (Black) and LIE Ver. (White). Like you said, these colors represents them and the people around them. They said that these are the way you view yourself vs. how the people see you. Whether you're lying to them or to yourself, and who are you going to TRUST. And what ever your decision is, you should trust it fully, even others doesn't approve. -Following to that, they said that the TRUE ver. (Black) are those things we often hide to others since it is dark, not acceptable, and just frowned upon if not taboo. Whereas the LIE ver. (White) are those lies we show to other so they will like and "trust" us. It is a quest for each one of us to choose which color should we choose and show, either to fully clothe ourselves in those versions. -Soyeon composed the sound still connected to the storytelling. She build the verse and pre-chorus up and up, just like the hype and heat of relationship. And then the super drop on chorus, like you just realized that what you're doing with your "temptation" is wrong, and you felt guilty about it. That's why the last chorus don't have that drop since they have already accepted it in 3rd verse (AB IMO PECTORE), and became a hype to them. Also, if you can frame-pause on the images, you can catch some frames that can add spice to the story. -During Soyeon's rap part, notice her facial expressions (most in glitch cuts) as part of their visual storytelling. She goes from being reluctant, but smiling and grinning from inside. SOME FACTS: -Not shown much in MV, but they have 3 different choreos for each chorus. Again telling the progression of the temptation. -Their black outfits have snakes ornaments and accessories, while the white outfits have crystal tears and tethers (Minnie got chains/ bound rope, especially during stage performances). -The black bars on top and bottom opened and closed for Minnie. -Minnie have to shower multiple times a day since she's covered with blood, wine, mud, etc. And yes, they "swam" in the mud pit. -The barb wire aren't real (obviously) but they are surrounding them so close, and given that idea it is still uncomforting. -Soojin said "MY ROLE IS TO SEDUCE THE GIRLS."

I think this song is really important for Soyeon's personal beliefs and her christianity. As a lot of fans know Soyeon is christian together with Soojin. And i mean, even here there are literally crosses everywhere at the end, brought up by the dancers.The white apple, that means yes, you can bite the apple of knowledge and feel all you want cause if you feel pure with it, it's not a sin (with the right restraints obviously,lol, like..."do not kill"). And with "THAT is not a sin", THAT could mean anything. Soyeon said that the "HER" could be anything. Anything you feel pure but at the same time wrong about.The point of the song is "whatever people are saying, love what you want, cause if it makes you feel happy then that's not a sin for God". That's why she's praying to god in the middle of the song and in the chorus/title...it's a prayer in which she says that she knows it's not a bad sin since she's feeling so tempted to something she feels good and Pure with. And god could never punish her for pureness, literally. The title itself suggest she's talking to God

the girl who's voice you said sounds like velvet actually sounds like that when singing live too! she is minnie, the first ever thai main vocalist in a kpop group! i highly recommend you watch gidle live performances on your own time bc when they sing their own songs, they perform live so you really get to hear how their unique vocal tones as a group melds together :) with soyeon being their main producer, she really makes sure all of the vocal colors of the group gets to shine and she composes songs with specifically them in mind! (whoops i didn't finish the whole video when i commented, i can see you know who's wo now!)

This song has such a deep concept. It takes many watches and examining the lyrics to get the stories that are being told. So much symbolism and everything. It is very artistic. A lot of their other stuff is very very good also. It will keep you happy. I would have to say Lion is on par with this. Also the Stage performances on Queendom are so good. Check out "Put it Straight (Nightmare Version)" From Queendom. It was a live stage there of one of their B sides so no MV for it. Its really cool.

THANK YOU. I started observing this group because it stood out from all the girl bands, they are like the female successors to BTS imo. They have tremendous potential, wonderful music videos and song tests, but I hope that CUBE will not not fucking this... and so we already have five members instead of six.

If you like this dark concept i recommend the group “Nature” and their song “Girls” their video is inspired in the horror korean movie “A tale of two sisters”, the song is so good, they have an uncensored version for the Girls mv too ^^
