so, there are 2 types of kmusic : idol songs (international/ fandom oriented) and non idol songs (more local/ general people oriented). IU, is right between those two extreme. Its so difficult to explain iu's greatness in S.Korea. In short, she killed the charts with jazz songs, orchestral pop, with remake oldies, with hiphop, pop-rocks, and with ballads. She get the highest music awards as teens, 20's, and 30's, and while doing that she also acts in least 3-4 successful dramas, 1 modern classic dramas, and 1 Cannes movie.

Everytime I hear eight makes me cry. It was a masterpiece and the most tragic moment for her age series songs. (23, Palette and Eight ) Welcome to IU's universe. One more note on our Queen. She's almost universally loved by her fans for her openness and humility. She truly is a rags to riches story. Her family lost its money in the IMF crisis and she lived on potatoes with her brother and grandmother in a ratty apartment while training and has never forgot those days. She's worth multi-millions but for her birthday she gives millions to local charities and scholarship funds. She's also very grateful to her fans and will go out of her way to do autographs and selfies. At the red carpet premere for "Broker," the foreign press was stunned that she didn't immediately go into the theater but instead went over to her fans and signed autographs; and sometimes just goes out on the streets with her brother and her bodyguard and signs autographs and talks to fans when they recognize her and approach her. She knows her fans are the reason she has the life she does, and never fails to acknowledge their appreciation with love and gratitude.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! Dude I can't believe how late I am, I never got the notification- dude I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU FINALLY REACTED TO IU (Especially these songs, I love them so much)! These songs are literally masterpieces I love them so much- Celebrity is legit my favorite Music Video from her I just love the message and it's just such a beautiful song and catchy at the same time, Lilac is just stunning and her duality in it just WOW she is definitely one of the people that invented Duality, and Eight dude let me just say when I first heard it my heart was full and then when I heard about the meaning (if you think it's sad now just you wait) I legit tear up every time I hear it- it's basically about her three friends Sulli (from f(x)), Goo Hara (from KARA), and Jonghyun (from SHINee) they all took their own lives because of all of the hate that they got/their depression/and all of the stress they were all friends and IU basically was at a Tour and on her first day she talked about Sulli and how she misses her and same with Jonghyun, and in the middle of her second day she got the bad news about Goo Hara and you could tell how upset she was. If you go to her Wikipedia Profile, you will freaked out that how many award she won and also nominated (As both Music Artist and Actress) Most important thing she is a Solo Idol, in history of K-Pop there are few solo artists who are successful. She is the most inspiring person in the industry. If you ask to any young Idol that who is your Idol; most of them will say her name. Can you believe it that she was failed to pass about 20 auditions before joining Loen Entertainment. She always looks after her Co-Artist like musicians work in the background and other staffs.
