I had to stop the video, which one never does during a Zeppelin song, BUT, I had to tell you 1 thing. You have just witnessed and heard THE BEST ROCK BAND that ever was, is, or will ever be. You’re 18?? Not only do I children, well at least 2 of them, (double your age) lol, but I also have shoes older than you 😁😁 (but I did start early 😅). It does my heart good that the younger generation is willing to listen to where Rock started. Forget The Beatles, they were the original “Pop” boy band, but it takes PURE GENIUS to start a revolution. The guitarist is Jimmy Page. It depends on what list you read, but Jimmy Page comes in #1 as the greatest guitarist of all time. I feel Jimmy Hendrix and Jimmy Page would be tied, but after those 2, I would shoot right to the 80’s with Eddie Van Halen (RIP Eddie) of Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP Stevie), then Slash from Guns and Roses). Stevie was blues Rock, and it would be hard pressed to find others that were greater, but I’m sure there were a few more like B.B. King, Chuck Berry, David Gilmore (Pink Floyd), Eric Clapton, etc. The best of list is impressive. Do yourself a favor and listen to Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption. It’s a complete masterpiece. Talk about the best guitarists ever. You actually won’t believe your ears!!! But Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of Zeppelin were the original pioneers. Their songs always told a story. (It was the era of Folk Music, which told an entire story in 1 song). But 1 never stops a song when listening to greatness. I feel you would love Stevie Ray Vaughan. Also you should listen to Pink Floyd, live at The Pulse doing Comfortably Numb!! Enjoy some new music. I try to do the same with today’s music, cuz to me ALL music is great!!!! It’s the universal language.

Jimmy pages first concert after Bonzo died was for the ARMS festival in the UK. but this point in '82 He had sunk even further into heroin addiction, his teeth were even more messed up, and he looked worse than a zombie.... yet somehow still played more enjoyable music than Eric clapton and Jeff Beck who also played at that concert. But apparently after Jimmy saw the footage of him at this show, it was part of why he decided to clean up his act.... Page is like 78 now!! who would have thought haha

The lead guitarist is Jimmy Page. He’s the only guitarist since Les Paul himself that wrote, produced, engineered, AND played which is why many refer to him as a 3 dimensional player. He’s in the top 3 of almost every list of best guitarists of all time. Stairway is one of the greatest rock songs ever written but it’s not even close to Zeppelin at their best. Since you’re craving something heavier, I would recommend checking out their live versions of “Rock and Roll,” “Black Dog,” “Celebration Day,” “In My Time of Dying,” or “Whole Lotta Love”.

I don't think that statement about Page and Les Paul is accurate. Tom Scholz from Boston wrote, produced (in the studio he built in his basement), engineered and played all instruments except drums (though he is a drummer) and sing. He also invented some of the equipment used to make the unique guitar sounds. That's just off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure there are others.

Welcome to the world of Led Zeppelin!! LZ fans are the best, very helpful and loyal to reactors who are discovering the band. Your reaction is SO GOOD - the river, the paintbrush - great way to put it. You said you felt like you were in a river - that is a great description. You're always in a river - you are in the music and the music is all around you. Some times the water is rough (the LIT stuff), sometimes the water's smooth and sometimes it's in between. LZ has a really diverse catalog of music - I hope you will check it out. The studio recordings give you the musical talent of the 4 guys. Live performances give you an idea of their talent - you can see it- they are all GOATS plus live performances have a lot of improvisation. I suggest you do both if you can. Someone below commented to react to Since I've Been Loving You from this same concert (from 1973!!) that it would change your life - I agree - it will take you to another place - Here's the link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z814n8V52cq6fIk.html Some other things to watch/listen to just starting on the LZ journey - from when they first started out - 1969 How Many More Times (this is a LIT number - bass and drums particularly) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7l5hpOgnNzYgHk.html Dazed and Confused blusey rock with some psychedelia through in (and a guitar surprise from Jimmy) LIVE 1970 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br2fhKeh352sf4E.html and Kashmir studio version (1975)- no way to describe it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/quCGfbOYqNSRimw.html and a LIVE performance from 2007 - 27 years after the band broke up because of the death of their drummer. The concert is the first time they played together for an entire concert since the breakup and the drummer is the son of the mate who died. It is also unbelievable and shows just how great they are even missing John the original drummer. Link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hqpdgMeautOVj40.html I hope you'll decide to "go down the rabbit hole" - there's so much good music to discover. I'm subscribing. I want to see your future LZ reactions. Led Zeppelin one of the top bands to grace our presence and is also my son's father's favorite band. Listening to them is super surreal. Being a bit too young, I only heard this out of context on one of my brother's car tapes and he didn't have enough room on Side A to catch the last line! Why it continues to be such an event is difficult to say, but everything about it (especially on record) seems so obvious and set in stone that it came as a surprise to learn that Jimmy Page tried three different guitar solos for it. If I sing this in the shower (I can just about do the high bits still) I even find myself doing the solo too!

The band is Led Zeppelin. The guitarist is Jimmy Page. The double neck guitar has a 12 string neck (top) and a 6 string neck (bottom). So he can get both sounds with one guitar. Both are used in this song.

Dude you said just defined what rock has always been, when you said..."I'm only 18 but they're making me remember a life I never lived!" Pretty damned astute thing to say. I was only 14 when this came out but I was mature for my age and I had already heard their other 3 albums and was hooked. But this album blew my mind, I think it's the 3rd best selling album of all time, 23 times platinum. Zeppelin are a once in a life time shot, 4 of the best musicians of their time who just made magic and blew a few of my speakers along the way. I have a feeling you'll dig all things Zep. PEACE

@@Spedrick11 one of slash’s influences is jimmy page. Slash might not have picked up the guitar if it wasn’t for him. the solo didn’t sound like crap, it couldn’t have been better, your just used to hearing everything modified on itunes and spotify, etc. You sound kinda dumb
@Spedrick11

No it sounded like crap for sure. I have seen a lot of bands live and have been going to clubs and bars even and listening to live bands since I was 8 years old because my father was always in bands and would take me whenever I wanted to go which was most of the time. My father played guitar and so do I and never was any of the music modified by anyone or anything. I have an ear for music as my father would tell me and I know what sounds good and what doesn't. I dont care who Slash's influences were, it's a fact that though he may not be technically better than some of the others, he plays with much more feeling than anyone I've ever heard before including myself and my father. You are the dumb one thinking you know so much about me that I would probably just bow down and listen to the garbage you're spewing like you know better than me. I'm 52 and I've been around. I know what sounds good and what sounds like shit.
