Watch him play...life without you.....he has to change guitar cause the string breaks, he drops his pick, he has to adjust the sound and he losses a tooth, but through it all he never stkps playing, a true pro. And he stops to give a beautiful message to everyone, he was an amazing performer and a good person. Every performance is special and he gives it his all, every time

He doesn't unplug, or the sound would stop.....He removes the strap - swings it behind him - reattaches the strap - and continues to prove why he is GOAT - all in the middle of a riff, without loosing a beat, AND without muffling the sound.

I'm a guitar & piano teacher, and the best part of my job is watching someone your age hear something you've never heard before. I can just sit back and watch the faces of my students just light up and all sorts of emotions go across their faces. That's what I just watched on your face. Explore more genres of music, watch live performances. You will find so much that will stick with you that you will love. There is so much music out there. It was fun watching you watch this.

He really played like that. I saw it. I’ve never seen anything else like it. He grew up in Oak Cliff, just outside of Dallas. He played guitar all day every day, took it to school with him, … He was just starting to get famous when he was killed in a helicopter crash age 35. That was a terrible day I’ll never forget. He never played a song exactly the same way twice. It came straight out of his head and through his fingers, not memorized. Check out, also from the same El Mocambo show, his cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing”. At the end he adjusts all his amps and gets a sound out of his guitar that sounds like dinosaurs roaring. Unbelievable

Okay, Austin, Texas, 1981. 6th Street live music scene. Steamboat Willie's Stevie Ray played it seemed like weekly. Less than $5 cover and cheap beers. And Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, before Reece arrived with the keyboards. A small dance floor in front of the stage, tables, and the rap-around balcony tables surveying the whole scene. Bar at the back. It was still socially okay to dance alone. And I did. I danced to SRV so much it feels like home. He worked the feedback with the big old speakers and we cheered and danced on. Pure connection.

It's blues, straight up. He is arguably the greatest guitar player of all time or at least in the top 3 depending on who you talk to. I appreciate you delving into other genres, it's wise to expand your mind. That said, there is 100 years of great music, pre-2000 that your generation needs to check out and embrace.

Stevie was definitely a one-of-a-kind. Without a doubt, he was "touched" by something otherworldly at a young age. He was a conduit of music straight from God to our ears. This concert was recorded in late July, which accounts for some of the sweat pouring off of him. Stevie also put every bit of himself into every performance. And there is a high possibility that he was "sky high" at the time. His catalog is deep and wide. I recommend his cover of "Voodoo Chil' " and for a totally different perspective on just how deep his chops ran, "Riviera Paradise."

What an amazing first reaction. Definitely keep checking more SRV. He's on of my favorites and such an awesome musician. His live shows are unmatched when it comes to musical talent. You should check out "Mary had a little lamb" by SRV live at Austin in 1989. Also, for a different blues/rock flavor, you should react to the band Free. Check out their live performance of "Alright Now" at Granada in 1970. Free's lead singer Paul Rodgers is arguably one of the best blues/rock singers of all time. He later was in another band called Bad Company which is also an amazing listen!

I just subbed for more SRV. I agree with suggestions of checking out Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater. In addition to everything that has been said that happens, he takes time in his solo to speak on loving everyone as ourselves. The speech also refers to the Apartheid that was going on in Africa in those days. He truly believed everyone should be treated with love and respect. Then watch when he turns to grin at his crew off stage and mouths Lost my tooth!!! Grins again and mouths It’s gone !!! But then finishes the song in true Stevie Ray style of perfection. It’s just amazing!!!!!

Vocals in "Ain't Gone 'n' Give Up On Love" (Capitol Theater) and "Leave My Girl Alone" (Austin 1989), "Pride And Joy" (Montreux 1983). His live performances are next level, but you and the viewers will love the official music videos, too, that Stevie and the members of his band Double Trouble did. For example, "Couldn't Stand The Weather" (drenched!), "Superstition" (clever), the hilarious "Cold Shot," and "If The House Is Rockin'" (where everyone parties down). Also check out his Sound Check where someone captured footage of SRV after he just woke up, and he rockets into a mini concert at jet-fueled speed! He's a GOAT, especially of the blues, but did rock, blues-rock, even jazz. Aggressive style. Never learned to read music. Amazing guitar skills, a great voice, and a soul connected to another world. So into both the music and the moment, with a heart so revealing in everything he expressed. But you couldn't find someone more humble. Stevie Ray Vaughan was fire in so many ways. He was a funny, kind, and loving human being. Massive respect! 🎸♥️🎶🙏🥰🌟🌹
