XG’s songs are all in English. .. this is an early release ( their second ) they have different styles both mostly R&B and hiphop . . Their rappers and rap lines are on another level though . . . Going down their rabbit hole is worth it

Thx for your first XG reaction. Short summary about them: XG is short for Xtraordinary Girls, their label is XGALX, which was more or less specifically created for them. Their debut was March 2022. They are seven Japanese, age 18 to 22 as of now, who are based in South Korea and trained with the KPop idol methods ... to then perform NOT K-Pop, but instead mostly western style 90s/early 2000s rap and R&B oriented tracks. *Modern Old School*, if this makes sense. Their main songs are all completely in English. They also venture into 90s/y2k pop and club sounds, and their rapline and vocalists also have separate series showcasing them specifically, XG Tape and XG Vox respectively. Officially there are 4 rappers (Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Harvey) and 3 vocalists (Chisa, Juria, Hinata), but the rappers all can sing as well. Mascara is probably the most "K-Poppy" sounding track, which means a bit atypical for XG. Some recommendations: Shooting Star (kinda their signature song) Left Right (got XG a spot on the Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Best Songs of 2023 list) Tape #2 Galz Xypher (rapline only, but that one went viral for good reason) Hesonoo & X-Gene performance video (it's ... different) Winter Without You (best in the live vocals version on The First Take) GRL GVNG (for video editing madness)
