@@tdavis832 SUBSEQUENT BABIES ARE ALOT EASIER TO TAKE CARE OF THAN THE FIRST BABY IS BECAUSE YOU ARE SO NERVOUS AND YOUR BABY IS SO NEW AND IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO EITHER !!!! I'M SURE THAT IF YOU GIVE IT A TRY TO HAVE A SECOND BABY , THINGS WILL BE ALOT BETTER WITH HIM OR HER BECAUSE YOU WILL BE MORE EXPERIENCED AND CALMER THAN YOU WERE WITH THE FIRST BABY !!!!! I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF MANY , MANY CHILDREN SO I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT !!!!! PRETTY MUCH ALL FIRST TIME PARENTS ARE VERY NERVOUS WITH THEIR FIRST CHILD , SO YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT THIS . AND , WHEN THEY HAVE A SECOND BABY , THEY FIND OUT THAT IT'S SO MUCH EASIER THAN THE FIRST BABY WAS !!!!! THE SECRET IS TO BE VERY ORGANIZED AND GET THE FIRST CHILD TO HELP YOU WITH THE SECOND CHILD AND SO FORTH AND SO ON !!!!!! IF YOU ALLOW THE FIRST CHILD TO HANDLE THE SECOND ONE ( WITH SUPERVISION , OF COURSE) , WITH THINGS LIKE BRINGING YOU A DIAPER OR A PACIFIER FOR THE NEW BABY , OR YOU LET THE FIRST CHILD BURP THE NEW BABY WITH YOU , THE TRANSITION WILL GO MUCH BETTER AND YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!!!! 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊 !!!

German Midwife here - Guys, please read this!! I know pumping has become a trend in the U.S. and makes things easier sometimes - but don't you know that it is much better for your baby to be breastfed instead of drinking pumped milk out of plastic bottles? There are 3 MAIN REASONS for that; the most important one is that the saliva, that stays on the mothers nipple after feeding signals the mother’s body all the essential things it need to know for the milk production: how much in total is needed, how much fats or liquids the baby needs, and also, very importantly, if the baby is fighting against germs and antigenes at the moment. If so, the mother would develop antibodies and the breast milk would include them for the next meals - so that the baby is perfectly ready to fight against sicknesses because mom’s milk made it possible!! Isn’t that amazing? :) Also the breast milk changes, while the baby is growing up, to always have the right amounts of everything that is needed in every stage of development (all that is possible due to the close skin-to-skin situation and the saliva) But of course with pumped milk that can not be possible! Many of the great advantages aren’t there when pumping exclusively. Of course you are absolutely free to pump every once in a while to have some milk in stock, that’s great! But if you want to give your baby all the ingredients and nutrients it currently needs, the right amount and obviously the antibodies YOU NEED TO PROPERLY BREASTFEED! It's so important! :) *Edit: I found a little mistake, I mixed up antigenes and antibodies. *second Edit: Guys in the comments, come on! You really misinterpreted this comment :( I did not mean to be rude AT ALL! My job is to elucidate others and I bet there are many women out there who haven't heard these things yet. So I want to explain it to them so that they are able to make an informed decision. I understand that my comment came across as rude, and I am deeply sorry for that - that was definitely not my intention!! But I never attacked the KZfaqr nor anyone personally, nor did I shame mothers who do not breastfeed. I just stated the facts. And I am from Germany and do not exactly know about the maternity leave in the U.S., so please do not attack me for not knowing.

@jule3438
@jule3438 4 ай бұрын
@@lindiwe8380 well of course they may have their reasons, but I am just trying to elucidate others over things they may not know. Could well possibly be that many choose pumping because they think it is easier without knowing the advantages breastfeeding has or to put if differently: they haven't heard about the negative sides of pumping so I am trying to explain them :)

Your info is great. It is taught to moms here, in the US every day, so please don't make the assumption that US moms are ignorant of the facts. But what I think you are failing to realize is that Germany, and much of the rest of the world, is not like the US when it comes to post partum care as it pertains to work and benefits, etc. If childcare, basic needs, and job security wasn't an issue, then many more moms would do textbook breastfeeding, as you described. Moms who work (most do) and choose breastfeeding over formula, need that child to accept a bottle or no one will watch them when mom goes back to work. Dad won't be able to feed them if they are exclusively breastfed. Please take into consideration different situations and don't assume others, as a nation, are ignorant of information that is literally drummed into their heads from the first prenatal visit.

We struggled a little bit with supply in the beginning. We bought a baby scale and would weigh her right before and immediately after her feed (not removing diaper or clothing) for several feeds a day. We didn’t need her actual weight to be correct but as long as we could see that ounce difference from before and after the feed,we were happy. It worked out great for a couple months until we got the hang of it
@kathleenkirchoff9223
@kathleenkirchoff9223 4 ай бұрын
Much easier to count wet diapers. Unless there are serious health issues no needs to weigh baby except for doctor visits. Babies can lose 10 % of their birth weigh the first two weeks( that's what baby fat is for.) but should gaining.

Dang things have changed. I didn't have that insurance coverage 4 years ago 😮‍💨. My youngest had lip and tongue tie. They promised after surgery he'd latch. Nope! I had a love hate relationship with my pump... plugged to the wail plus a 2yr old running around 😩. I managed to supply over 7,000 oz (some frozen, some fresh.) I remember their dad getting bread crumbs from the toaster in my 14oz pump one day. I cried so bad. He still doesn't get it 🙄😤. Had to stop after 6 months due to inner ductal yeast infection. Thankfully my storage milk lasted until he was able to drink whole milk. The things us moms do for our babies 😊💜

Ugh this makes me sad. I’m producing about a teaspoon- tablespoon per breast every three hours. I get about 30mL in 24hours. I’m one month PP with twins to feed. Seeing you pouring all the milk wish I could make that for my babies 😢. You are truly blessed to be able to make so much for baby. I know there is nothing wrong with formula but it’s still hard to not be able to feed your babies on your own.

You are doing great!! The fact that you are caring for your sweet babies and love them is what matters! Talking to a lactation consultant, increasing calories, and staying hydrated can all help! It does take a few days after birth for your milk to come in too. I know it can be very emotional as you want to feed your babies, but don’t pressure yourself. Your body already did an amazing thing giving birth to twins!! ❤️

I learned recently that there are different hormone levels in milk depending on the time of day! Which makes sense, because there's different hormone levels in your body - more cortisol in the morning, more melatonin at night. I don't think there's conclusive evidence yet, but it's possible that feeding your baby morning milk in the morning and nighttime milk at night might help them regulate sleep and develop a circadian rhythm. Just a neat thing you might try if you're pumping

I breast fed my daughter while at home and pumped for when my parents babysat. I got pregnant at 20 and the father was useless. He bolted before the baby was even born. She’s 29 now and the mother herself. I was working at a restaurant and was fortunate enough to come home for a couple of hours, so I could nurse and pump. But if I got off late, my breast were in gorged. I’m telling you it is a full-time job nursing! But I’m so glad I was able to do it for nine months. And thank God to my parents. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them. They are gone now. I lost them both at 47. Even at that age I still needed my mommy and daddy. Just because you grow up doesn’t mean you don’t still need your parents and their wisdom and advise.

These types of pumps can reduce your milk supply heavily. Twin momma here and I was pumping around the clock. I wish this was an option for me but it definitely wasn't powerful enough. It went away quickly within the first two minutes but I struggled badly. It felt like Impending Doom the first two minutes I attached to the breast pump.

I measured how much I drank in a 12 hour period, how long I breastfed and how often. I also had to measure my urine output. Over the 12 hours my baby received over 2 litres of breast milk.

Wow! Awesome invention! It's great that it is paid for by insurance. Edit: adjusted from the comments. It would all depend on the insurance as to whether or not it would be paid for. From working in an office that had three women who had babies within a month of each other (one set of twins) and having to take breaks to use breast pumps, something like this would really be appreciated.

How long did it take for your milk to come in that much cause I just had a baby and I only get half a bottle filled up but it been a week since I’ve had him and I do fifteen minutes of pumping but only get like three ounces

Everyone is different some can produce more than others. I only pumped 4oz and my baby was okay with 4oz every feeding. I tried to offer more in order to spread out the feeding time when he got older but he would never take more than 4oz at a feeding up until I stopped at 15 months. Best of luck to you! You got this!

What kind of pump please ? Cuz I tried hospital hand held and one from my insurance and an electric zumi one and nothing does the job like I need it too. I got a lot of milk for me to be a first time parent with a week old baby. I literally wet my whole shirt AND my pants just breast milk. And for me to have all that milk I don’t understand why the machines don’t pump right smh

If you can feed the baby without a pump at this stage I'd do that until things get regulated.

Is it good to wait with buying this until after the baby is born? I’ve had some friends that couldn’t produce milk so wouldn’t it then be a waste of quite a lot of money?
@emmy-kz1pj

Yes, maybe wait. And then see what you need. I've got a baby- but I don't see how this is going to be any easier than feeding straight off the breast. Especially when it comes to cleaning and sterilising bottles and pump. When I go back to work I'll see what I need then.
