First time out with the new Quest V80, first impressions on this new multifrequency machine

When the new Quest machines, the V80 and V60, were announced earlier in the year I was impressed with the design and some of the features they'd included... then it all went quiet as Quest changed distributors and had some other challenges to overcome.
When I heard that Spinadisc are going to be the new distributor I got excited again as they are my only local outlet, based in Halifax, where I work normally.
So when Carl at Spinadisc confirmed they'd got stock I was there within 24 hours to pick one up!
As you'll hear in the video, I am impressed with the design of the machine, it's a very nice piece of kit.

Thanks for showing the Quest V80 in action! I’m really interested in this detector, but haven’t been able to find out much about its performance. There’s one other UK video about it, but the person who made it never made any follow up videos which was 8 months ago now! From the other videos I’ve watched on the Quest V80, it seems to identify targets at depth as iron. Have you tried it on a testbed? Or even on freshly buried targets, to judge its depth performance? It definitely looks like a really good detector.

I dug very little iron at all on my first hunt, but was only a few hours. I will try it on some pre-buried targets in future videos, so watch this space

V80 is looking good, the musket ball thing could be dumb bell shot I showed mine to the FLO and she thought Dumb bell shot, good review, cheers 👍

What are your thoughts about depth, say compared to other machines you have used?

Have had the Versa and Legend on the same field and the v80 seemed to be picking up targets at similar depths, only a few hours on the first hunt though so time will tell. Thanks for watching

Yeah they are Nice, I use mine on my phone to listen to music . I'm just getting warm with the V80, had a Q20 before

Hi Tony I just order aVersa I been seeing some KZfaq videos and there is comments that in Multifrequency it's not as deep as the legend😢 can you tell me your opinion and what's the latest news obiut the update Thanks

My experience is that they are very similar in terms of depth, and I expect the update this side of Christmas - fingers crossed.

Thanks Lee, yes love the pattern on it... V80 bundle (two coil pack) is on offer at Spinadisc this weekend, think £635ish, V80 single coil pack £595ish and V60 £580ish

How do you do the update and which is the newest update mine says 3.3.0 follwee instructions but doesnt seem to see the quest on the laptop and when i click to open the update on the laptop says nothing there

Can I ask what sensitivity you were searching with. I got one and tried it and couldn't get it to stop chattering until I put sensitivity below 70. Thanks

I started at 70 and then moved it up to 80 without any issues, but it's a large field, no significant EMI etc, could probably have pushed it a little higher.
