For 12 years, since November 2011 at the EMAs where they did a phenomenal medley where Adam just sang the roof of the place. He sang so well that you can see Brian May looking over at him with a smile on his face that said, "he's our boy, he really is it, he is our new beginning!"

Isn't it a shame he "lost" American Idol...LOL! Last time I saw Chris Allen ( who was talented, no hate) was about a decade ago...in a car commercial. Meanwhile, the "runner-up" got asked BY Queen to be their lead singer. I wish I could lose like that.

He slowed it down and showed a completely different side of this song. I mean, the original was a disco song, and for him to re imagine this song in such a beautiful, respectful way. I have never really paid attention to the words before his rendition. Cher was blown away. Adam was on Idol season 8. He was the runner up to Kris Allen....I know...who's he? Adam was the only thing memorable about that season. After idol, he went on to do his first album. Then he began touring with Queen until this day. They r on their North American leg of their 2023 tour. He does a great honor to Freddie Mercury. He also tours on his own. He recently released an album. He also returned to Idol this season as a mentor.

He was a few years after Kelly. He's been in musical theater since he was a kid. He's the first American Idol contestant to be out. Cher is a known LGBTQ+ icon. He's so great 🥰

Did listening to the rest of the song answer your question about why they chose Adam… his range is amazing - it’s why Queen chose him to sing their songs. He’s one of the few singers alive today who can sing Freddie’s songs.. in the same key.. not too many can do so!!!

Adam is one of those rare vocalist/singer that never sings a bad song. (Steve Perry, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton-- to name just a few) Who are flawless, disciplined and a joy to listen to. Before Idol, he was doing a stage play, and quite when he made idol. He was trained early on as a kid, thanks to great and supportive parents. During idol, he would very often arrange and make a song his very own. This was when he first worked with Queen, and eventually they masked Adam to tour with them. Watch his idol video and you will see and hear why he is such a great vocalist. And human being. Paula Abdule was over the moon and gushing about him from the audition to the final day of idol. BTW, Chers version of Believe was the first time auto tune was used by a pro singer.

Adam is an icon. He has a successful solo career and just released his 5th album recently. He will be doing some solo shows and festivals in Europe this summer and then he will be back with Queen to do a 6 week tour of the US in October and November. You should check out some of the songs he does with Queen like Who Wants to Live Forever at the Isle of Wight or The Show Must Go On. I like his songs Closer to You (live sessions) or Underneath at his Las Vegas show in 2021. He has so many great songs it's hard to choose. Adam and Cyndi Lauper did the tribute for Cher. They each sang a song and then one together. Adam recently was on a TV musical game show and had to sing The Muffin Man as Cher to her version of Believe. He was incredible and the song as has gone viral and has over 80,000 TikTok videos made to it so far. He's range is incredible. People have even thought that they autotuned him to sound like her but they didn't he's just that good.

Adam did a rough version of this on his American Idol season 8 Hollywood Week. That's probably why he was chosen to do this event. People afterwards kept on asking him to release it as a single, but it only hit Spotify a couple of years later.

He became second in Idol because he is gay - - and that was his luck - - then he was free to pursue his own carrier - and perform with Queen who was performing 'We are the champions' with the finalists. They instantly 'clicked' - and have been touring for more than 12 years now - coming to North America this fall - - but all tickets sold out in a few hours - also to additional concerts.

As far as I’m concerned Adam can sing whatever he wants, he’s so incredibly talented he has so much control over his vocal ability it’s just ridiculous what he does! Love ❤️ him! Adam was on season 8, a guy named Kris Allen won but who knows anything about him today! Nice guy and a good voice but he’s no Adam Lambert! Season 8 2009 came 2nd. Phenomenal voice can sing anything.Lots of fantastic songs on his own soaked feel something time for miracles Ghost town could go on really. Queenx Adam Isle of Wight Festival 2016 Who Wants to live Forever just stunning. Totally stripped this song right back great arrangement. Just a suggestion, for all reactors really, always react to the original song, or at least the original singer that made the song a hit, before you react to the cover singer. That way, you can better appreciate any adaptations they have made to make the song their own. Sometimes they make big changes that can almost change the meaning of the song, kind a like I feek Adam did with his interpretation of this Cher classic, and sometimes the newer artist makes huge changes to even the musical style the song is sung in, but you won't know and will not be able to appreciate (or sometimes maybe not appreciate) thoses changes if you are not qiite familiar with the original, and neither can thoses views watching who may not know the original. Just noticed many reactors do covers without knowing originals, and that is usually somewhat disappointing when they don't know what they are missing.

Kelly Clarkson is the "World Famous Original Idol" (tm TelevisionWithoutPity... I so miss that website). She won Season 1. Adam Lambert came in second in Season 8. He tours with Queen these days, doing a pretty good job of filling Freddy Mercury's shoes... or at least as best as anyone could.
