Black Clover is nuts. It's a really fun and epic anime, but it never gets too adult. There are a lot of dark stories and dark themed topics tho. I would recommend to give it a try, and decide by yourself if it's too happy/comic for you or not. Anyway, I see some people talking about Psycho-Pass. That's for sure a must-watch, both openings and anime.

OP3 "Black Rover" and OP10 "Black Catcher" by Vickeblanka are my favorite two Black Clover OP songs.

In my opinion Black Clover is the most genuine anime I have ever watched. The amount of love poured into those characters shines through the screen. No other anime has made me feel that way about their characters as much as this one. It has many good things but the relationship between characters is impeccable

every time I hear op 10 I get chills, not only is it the best opening (in MY opinion) it's also the best arc's opening (in MY opinion)

The first 4 episodes are gonna be a little rough mainly because of the main protagonist weird yelling but after that the show tones down oh his yelling and it gets better and better going forward

The page numbers are because the anime focuses around grimoires, which are spell books. When you learn a new spell, a new page becomes available. So calling the episodes pages pays homage to that.

Black clover is one of the few anime's where I never skip the openings Edit: Black clover was originally a manga, but the series is about magic knights(wizards basically) who draw their powerful spells from grimoire or spell books. Thematically the "Page Number" is just the episode number but since it's a series that's heavily revolved around drawing power from books, page number instead of episode.

Anime uses heavy symbolism in their openings and endings (not always though). Changing the Opening usually means a new chapter is starting (or as we say a new arc) and they tend to show scenes that might never happen in the anime itself but symbolizes and sometimes summarize the events of the said arc. Most of the time an opening can be considered major spoiler though unknowing viewer wont know theyve been spoiled until they watch the show

Regarding the changing openings, part of it is as you said to set the tone for that new season. The other part is that it is also there to promote the artists that are doing the songs, as part of the funding for a lot of shows comes from record labels pushing their artists

the Japanese are a very emotive and expressive people so they take the opportunity to frame each new season of most anime with new music which as you said, sets the tone and the mood and revitalizes the show. It is pretty cool tbh and is how I now have a collection of amazing japanese songs that I otherwise would not have been exposed to. Western shows just don't care as much about that and the effort and cost must be off-putting.

Almost all anime are originally based on a manga or light novel, so that doesn't have anything to do with the page #'s. The "page" numbers are the episode number, but they are stylized as pages in reference to the series' use of grimoires, or books for their magic. So each episode is a new page in the book that is Black Clover. Basically just a metaphor.

Page number is the episode. In the anime to use your magic you need a Grimoire (fancy magic book) so the page numbers just refers to that. A few other animes do similar things

Haruka Mirai will always be an iconic song. Surpass your limits. It will put tears in you once you watch the anime.

A word of caution, the first few episodes can feel slightly generic and bland, I still enjoyed it btwm but if you stick with it till the dungeon arc...I promise the pay off is huge. The only reason This show has an 8 on my animelist in my opinion is because a minority watched the first few episodes, gave it a low score and dropped it. No other show has consistently topped the arc it precedes and the story takes some really epic twists.

Black clover definitely provides the epic feel you describe. It shares lots of characteristics with other shonens but I find myself rewatching BC fights every day (which used to be hxh and mha)

3rd op is my favorite anime op ever and finding it in my youtube recommended was the reason I started watching Black Clover. Now it's probably my second favorite anime.

Anime intros are a massive thing in Japan it can be the highlight of some bands career and what makes them. Like FLOW for example who have done Dragon Ball, Naruto and others and they make sure to make every opening feel like a music video

I don't know if you've gotten around to watching the series or if anyone pointed it out but the idea of the "page numbers" was that was the episode number. I think the theme was just based on the page number of a book in reflection of the episode number.

Some Anime have multiple different opening in the same season! and something it for the mood... but I feel its more about the story arcs.. so like each arc as its own music type thing

Pages are basically episodes, they call them pages because its themed from the middle age, for example the first one was Page 2, so its episode 2

the main 2 people you see on the op's who are either fist bumping or standing side by side, are both orphans from the same place in that universe, however they consider them selves rivals. it is worth a watch if you feel like it.

Gonna explain a bit the page numbers, since it doesn't look like anyone did yet, and it's a nice little touch, that will cover the backgroud of the plot: it's a world where everyone has magic, in some capacity, the nobility is nobility because they have the most magic power. To use that magic, you need to have a grimoire, that you don't choose, the grimoire itself chooses you, since it's almost a living thing. Most of the grimoires have 3 clover leaves on the cover, some have 4, and are weilded by people destined to great things, but there's a rumor that in the 5th leaf sleeps a demon... Anyway, the "pages" you see are the episodes, they used "page" instead of episodes because it make sense with the grimoire-centric world the mangaka built. Alse, for great openings I suggest Fairy Tail. You can say whatever you want about the anime and its supposed "too much fan service", but the openings are awesome.

each season of anime has a unique opening because each season is generally a new premise and features new stuff also im pretty sure the page correlates to the episode

The pages you see in the openings refer to the episode they appear in! So page 77 for example means it appears on episode 77, but you guessed in right when you said Black clover is based on a manga, that’s the original source material and the creator is Yuki Tabata!
