I get chills. 😭 I know it's not official BU, but... there's no way all the parallels in this video are pure coincidence. they could have made an MV about anything in the world, and yet they chose to rehash the same themes, and even the same scenes as the BU. Jin standing in a separate room, watching memories unfold through a window is SO BU coded. And the throwback to the room imploding around him just like in fake love. And the hourglass reversing itself... and Jin looking into a doorway to a multiverse... all of those things just scream BU. and remember when I said a pervasive current theory is that JK is in his own timeloop now? well... in the scene here where Jin picks up the hourglass and flips it, JK suddenly becomes aware of Jin's presence and sees him through the window. No one else notices. JK glances down at his own (empty) hourglass sitting on the table, sees it's out of sync with Jin's, and he looks... troubled or maybe surprised? Hard to say. And then it's V at the end, reaching out to Jin through the window. V, who has, shall we say, a complicated relationship with Jin in the BU, lol. Well, BU or not, this is gorgeous. This song is extremely beautiful. Their voices are absolutely stunning. This Japanese song Film Out was one of the main songs besides Fake Love to be in the Japanese reality show She's The Wolf I would hear that song in the background of this show and be like so moved knowing it was BTS definitely made the series even better!

Their Japanese songs always hit differently…This is one of JK’s numerous masterpieces. It’s an OST for a Japanese drama called “Signal” but was also chosen to be the title track of one of their Japanese albums. There are some similarities to Fake Love that I saw like when Hobi was sitting against a door frame along with Yoongi at 3:56, though Yoongi wasn’t sitting against one but there was a door in the background of one of his scenes. And of course the scene at 4:15. Jin reaching out to the window is similar to what he did in his Wings short film at 3:53. I’m sure there are mire links, xCeleste did an explanation video for this MV that explains more!

This surprised ARMY because it was one of the first time Suga actually was singing in a video. He had been taking voice lessons and felt confident enough to sing solo in a song. I love BTS Japanese songs! There’s a different vibe to them, even the ones that were originally in Korean. I have to confess to having no great interest in the BU beyond understanding how the songs fit into it and the principle basis though I can understand how it is a fascinating aspect of BTS as a whole. But, Lory, you are right that once you know of its existence then you never can’t see it when it’s referenced. RM dropped his new single. I’m looking forward to your reaction. You're right that this isn't marked BU content but the Japanese series it was made for has some of the same elements as the BU and with who plays which role in the MV there's definitely an intention of hinting to the storyline. I think they couldn't mark it as such because it's an OST. But at the same time they have gone back and added the mark to content later on so I wouldn't discount it from the BU. 😉 💜

As artists also the content of Suga's songs are a lot of the times about his "shadow" as in his repressed thoughts and feelings while Jhopes is more often about his Ego as in his pride and hopes about wanting to be a "piece of peace". There's a lot more to it and I'm struggling to explain it properly but i hope you get the point. They are like Yin and Yang. they describe the two facets of existence. Like two sides of one coin, yin cannot exist without yang; yang cannot exist without yin. They complement each other. And that's the significance of that shot.

There was a Korean drama called signal that was remade as a Japanese series with the same name and then they did a Japanese movie for it. This song is an OST for the movie. There is some similar imagery because the BU and Signal share some plot similarities, but this MV really doesn't have anything to do with the BU. If you'd seen the series, then the differences become fairly obvious. I don't know if it's available in your country, but I highly recommend the series. I police profiler in the present finds a police hand-held radio that allows him to speak with a cop in the past. The profiler is able to tell the cop details about various cases and the cop in the past can sometimes change the outcome. In this video, Jin is outside of the universe that the others are in as he watches them and he is also with the group that Jin is watching. Jin in the BU was never outside of what was going on like that. Jin is playing the profiler. JK is playing is playing the cop in the past. In Signal, time doesn't reset. They are both moving forward in their own times and if the cop uses the profiler's information to change things, then they both have to live with the changes, even if they are worse than the original timeline. That's also why there is an hourglass in the video. Because time can't be reset, there is a limited amount of time that the cop has to make changes. Also, at some point in the past, the cop disappears, shown by JK fading out. There is a female cop that is in both times. She is a young rookie in the past and the leader of the profiler's team in the present. I think Tae is playing her role. She has been looking for the cop ever since he disappeared, trying to find out the truth of what happened to him. I'm trying very hard not to give any real spoilers for the series, because I do hope you get a chance to watch it, if you're interested in police procedural mysteries with a fantasy element. As you said, after really getting into the BU, it's easy to see connections everywhere even when they aren't meant to be there and that's what happens with a lot of people with this MV. Still a beautiful song and MV, though.
